Battle Reviews

Nice battle. Well built, good story and good action.
Simple enough to complete but with some good dogfighting if needed.
Always fun to fly with Prae.

This was a fairly straightforward set of missions. I should have bumped up the difficulty, so you probably should, too.

I enjoyed this battle, it wasn't too difficult for me as an average pilot.

Mission 01: Communications Shutdown 3/5
Enjoyable 'destroy the facility' type mission, where its dropped you in danger-close for warhead use in a TIE Advanced. Excellent use of 'failed mission objectives', with multiplayer capability incorporated. Clear briefing with no bugs observed

Mission 02: Convoy Killing 3/5
Classic 'hit and fade' objective on a Alliance convoy in the TIE Advanced, again dropping you in danger-close to the escorts. Excellent use of failed mission objectives, with multiplayer capability incorporated. Clear briefing with 1 bug observed (probable flight order issue). Reported

Mission 03: Stopping Reinforcements: 2/5
Engaging starfighters operating out of a facility in an extremely quick mission (I finished it in 2 minutes). Excellent use of failed mission objectives, with multiplayer capability incorporated. Clear briefing with no bugs observed.

Mission 04: Installation Strike: 3/5
Another 'destroy the facility mission to conclude the Battle, in a TIE Advanced. Interesting to see a Cap ship engage in combat vs. the platforms, but otherwise workmanlike mission. Again, excellent use of failed mission objectives, with multiplayer capability incorporated. Clear briefing with 1 bug observed (probable flight order issue). Reported

Overall: 3/5
A well structured campaign, with believable objectives and a realistic storyline (despite my dislike of hyperdrive/shielded TIE Fighters) and the capacity for multiplayer if you desire. Clear, concise briefings that still felt immersive. I quite like the 'failed state' objectives and might consider incorporating them into any missions I make for the group. Minor bugs observed.

A perfectly acceptable battle. Some of the missions can be completed quite quickly, while trying to stick around and do everything on Hard can be quite challenging/miserable. I don't care for the auto-fail mission if your ship is destroyed and you're out of waves - that's the kind of player-punishment I can't get behind. But all in all it's a fairly straightforward enough battle that won't take you long if you're determined to breeze through it

I flew this battle on hard so I cannot comment on other difficulties, but on hard it is full of bugs, issues and isn't well put together. All of your AI is set too low to begin with, so on hard this results in a slew of problems. Your allies don't regenerate shields, they don't use warheads or countermeasures, they crash into whatever they are attacking and are generally useless more so than normal, meaning that you have to solo the entire mission. The missions are all too short; they can be beaten within a minute or two, there's no variety in bonus goals and there is a lot of hangar camping involved in two of the missions. It might be better on a lower difficulty but on hard it is a grind.

I played on medium: I found the missions a fun, nearly pure dogfight experience. For most missions you can quickly complete the mission or stay around and kill more fighters for a higher score. The story is nothing special but isn't terrible either.

Quick and simple series of missions, which I enjoyed playing - this felt like a potential 'competition' battle to me, as there were obviously some scoring/points you could gain by hanging about and killing more stuff after the primary goals had been completed. Well work a fly through!

A Praetorian Squadron mission featuring a set of missions flying the TIE/A. Overall a simple and fun set of missions, with some challenge on hard and pretty easy otherwise. Nothing flashy, just straightforward missions to kill fighters and one mission decimating a convoy.

I liked this because I got to do what I like best: Destroy stuff with my rockets. Missions were really short, like the first one where you just had to destroy the sattelites. It really didn't feel like a challenge on a lot of it, but that's what I get for playing on easy during RTF to snag some points.

Fast and furious. I did enjoy destroying that convoy. It was cathartic! Give this one a go, I believe people will enjoy it and leaving you wanting for more.

A fun and quick romp. However, some of the missions are way too simple (destroy a comm satellite and you're done?). And no praetorian god ship, even though you're in the praetorian squadron. Kind of weird

This is not one of the best of the legendary Praetorian series, but it's not to be discarded either. Flying the TIE Praetor is always a dream come true, the lavish red interiors and the unmatched potential of arguably, the best fighter in the imperial inventory. The mission itself can be played very fast with heavy bombing or in hard level and assuming a space superiority role, it can be fun and challenging. The plot is a bit too shallow and the missions could have benefited from a more imaginative approach. Nevertheless worth flying.

Boring battle. Better than the last one, but still not good enough.

Same as the previous battle no T/Pr equals an unhappy Prae CMDR.

The missions are very action-packed, what I really like.

Much better sequel. It had a variety of missions at the very least. However it just seems that the creator has yet to master AI to perfection. Some fighters were just too dumb.

This should have the "EH Ship Patch required" tag; I got a machine-freezing game crash on mission 3 without it.

Labeled as XvT, but includes B-Wing, so should actually be filed under BoP.

Mission 02.
a. Some of convoy have 'return to home' as their flight order, with no actual home/jump waypoint, meaning they cannot potentially escape.

Mission 04
a. Subjucator does not fire back at enemy snubfighters.

CPT Vanguard88

Throughout the entire battle: Allied craft do not properly use warheads, often only firing one or two instead of the normal volley of 6. T/A Praetorian is not on the players' radio despite the fact they are in the same squadron. They do not use countermeasures all the time, they do not regenerate shields and they will frequently crash into whatever they are attacking. No mission complete message. Allied craft are given beam systems despite the fact the AI cannot use the beam system.

Mission 1: Comm Center spelled incorrectly. squad should not be capitalized in message #2. Message 4, 6 and 7 missing punctuation.

Mission 2: CUV Gas does not have a hyperdrive added, so when reaching its' hyperspace point it flies around in circles. Corvette Escort 1 Collides with one of Freighter group weapons, and conveyor group food has 2 cargo ferries that also collide with freighters.

Mission 3: Multiple sentences missing punctuation. When all enemy fighters are destroyed T/A Praetorian will patrol for craft to attack near the platform, causing them to all be destroyed by it.

Mission 4: Bizarre issue with the R&D Facility model not properly registering warhead hits. If you shoot one of the factories then get it to shoot the R&D facility or the other factory/any combination of the 3, it is possible to get the 3 of them to attack and destroy each other due to their close proximity.
