Battle Reviews

On hard, it is too difficult to really be enjoyable. You pretty quickly end up being alone against lots of fighters with missiles.

The reason it has so many negative comments attached to it is due to the difficulty level on hard. While doable, it is extremely challenging, even for me. There is a lot you have to do and you don't have a lot of time to do it in, but if you enjoy challenging missions that push your dogfighting skills to the limit I recommend this one. There are also a large number of bugs, and your AI doesn't work properly (Tie Bombers will never destroy the STRKC, and it alone can kill all the freighters)

Simple(ish) defend the convoy/frigate type scenario, heightened in difficulty by your wingmates/other Imperial forces don't target the two Murian transports that if left unchecked will kill most of your supporting forces. Oh and missile spamming from the Rebels when they hyper in reinforcements.

Aside from that, not sure why this one has so many negative comments attached to it.

Terrible mission. Poorly planned, plain and simple FRTs and FRG stay there for ages, a total disaster since the proper intelligent way for a GUN would be to disable enemies until critical craft have jumped out to safety. Well, guessed wrong. Avoid this unless you want to lose some 30 minutes of your life.

And by harder levels, you mean easy? I would pay money to see someone get halfway to beating this mission on medium, much less hard. 4x3 X's, 4x3 A's, 4x3 Y's, and 2 MUTR all at Top Ace or Ace AI against 2x3 T/A's at veteran is almost impossible. Oh, and did I mention that they have missiles, and you get no countermeasures?

Nice mission, those 2 Muurian's really add something to the level, but is extremely challenging on the harder difficulty settings.

Battle Bug Reports

MAJ Vanguard88

2024-11-15

Y-Wing group Gold launches too early from the STRKC, before it has exited hyperspace, resulting in them arriving 12km away from their target.

If not destroyed fast enough corvette Justice 1 will crash into the STRKC and die, sometimes taking out the cruiser.

Ships will frequently crash into both the corvettes and muurian transports given their close proximity to them at the start of the mission.

MAJ Vanguard88

2024-11-06

Tie Interceptor group Rho never arrives on Medium and Hard due to having an incorrect arrival trigger.

Tie Bomber group Zeta rarely if ever fires rockets at the Strike Cruiser and will frequently just crash into it instead.

Muurian transport Lambda will frequently crash into Corvette group Justice at the start of the mission.

X-Wing group Red & A-Wing group Blue will break off their initial attack runs on enemy fighters due to the corvette being interposed between themselves and their potential target, making it possible to destroy all 6 of them before they fire a single shot.

No mission complete message.

All fighters and the Strike cruiser have basic AI.

There is an extra space between have and an in the third inflight message. Bandits spelled incorrectly.

Travel, Imperial, medicine, worse, rebellious, suspects and Corps spelled incorrectly in the mission description. An extra I before consisting in the last paragraph should be removed.

Corvette group Justice does not fire on the Frigate or the Platform despite being in range of them.

1. Unsure if bug, but no Imperial forces have orders to attack the Murian transports, even if they have no other targets available to them.

Description:
A few months ago, the Mirath system was affected by a Verinsl disease
virus. At the earliest stage of its expansion, the virus took the lives
of millions on Viro, the sixth planet of the system and agricultural
center. The Imperial government quickly sent medical supplies to the
Mirath governor, Mirel Kerkis, but the convoy was attacked and captured
by presumed rebel forces.

Days later, another expedition was scheduled to leave the Sern system,
but unfortunate and scattered rebel attacks delayed the convoy. Fearing
a new rebel campaign, Imperial Navy High Command restricted hyperspace
travels within the imperial space. Therefore, the supplies supposed to
be sent to Mirath were cut by fifty percent. The lack of food and
medecine became worst until rebellious leaders arose on Mirath.

Intelligence suspect that those characters were trained by the Rebel
Alliance, meaning the recent uprising on Mirath might have been staged
by the Rebellion.

You are to fly escort to a Hammer's Fist Regiment, assigned to restore
order on Viro, and a Medical Corp frigate. The Mirath Two Station, on
the edge of the system, is awaiting your arrival. Ensure the safety of
all the ships under your responsibility.

Additional Comments:
I named the mission "Uprising: Prologue", because I might do a sequel
(a battle this time) with the same plotline. Providing the comments I
get from this mission are favorable of course.
