Battle Reviews

It's a fun enough mission, though a bit too hectic. It would have been an improvement if the cap ships were a bit farther apart, I think, to give some more room for warhead interception.

Lots of good preamble and briefing information, a straight up 'Cap ship defence' against snubfighters till reinforcements arrive. Gets bonus points for letting you fly a TIE/IN (though sadly not a TIE/LN) and allowing you to choose your 'flights deployment' (i.e fully out at game start, You and one wingman reinforced once, or you by yourself reinforced three times). Missile selection and countermeasures is always welcome, although it does have the potential to make the mission mostly 'sit around and wait for the reinforcements to arrive' as you can take down the enemy cap ship within the first few minutes of the engagement.

It is however let down by a couple of minor issues which are detailed in the bug report, and having an unkillable Shuttle for plot reasons.

Poorly made mission. Although the action is very much engaging and fun to play, fellow imperials will target your flight group eventually, and it takes over 15 minutes for the rest of the group to arrive, with no opposition. Sitting on your hands just makes the whole mission look dumb and a waste of time. Avoid this

While the opponents are fairly easy to kill, your allies take out you and your wingmen. There is tooooo much of a wait for the final arrivals after completing the player goals.

Yes, this mission demands some planning and strategy, but I think the mission is way too hard. Three waves of four Y-wings with rockets, three waves of four X-wings with torpedoes, some Z-95s with rockets, and if you take out the A-wings before reinforcements arrive... another group of Y-wings with rockets, all of this to take out an ISD with 100% shield??? Come on!

It is a thinker. You can't win if you don't get a plan for this so don't freak if you lose the first few times.

Great mission Ender. Keep up the good work. Love the Squadron Series!

Good mission. Perhaps a little short... Thx

1. First Player Slot puts you on a direct collision course for the Grey Wolf with very limited time to take evasion.

2. Valkyrie Sqdn were seen to engage the other TIE/IN once the Y-Wings were dealt with, indicating a potential 'Flight Order' issue

3. 'Suppression' spelt incorrectly in briefing.

-----------
This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing
missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give
a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are
interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe.

Story Line
----------
An High NR Official didn't like a trick Vortex pulled on them in a covert operation and has personally
launched an attack on the ISD Grey Wolf! The GW support craft are underway with supplies anyway so you
and the rest of Phoenix just need to keep the Rebel fighters down till the GW's escorts arrive.

NOTE
-------------------
You need the XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), as far as i know
no other patches are needed.
