I played on easy: I really enjoyed this battle. Even though you are in T/I without shields or a.missiles it never felt unfair and all the action was manageable and fun. Had a decent story and the briefings were good.

A simple, but effective and solid battle. It features de K-W and E-W which are somehow a novelty, while the player will have to engage into mostly dogfights and protection missions, which will be challenging and long to endure, but never boring or tedious. A warning, though. This is for unshielded hardcore fans since the only available craft will be the always-delivering rugged Space Shoe, aka the T/I with old warheads. Thankfully some decoy beams will be available from time to time. A battle worth playing

Mission 3: New Republic and EH starships ignore each other when in firing range.

It is part of a series of battles about varied TC units and their squadron objectives. Story Line ---------- 1. Pyr Squadron, 139th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XXI is based upon the ISDII Kawolski and its objective is Fighter Suppression. Fighter Suppression Squadrons assist other squadrons in the completion of their goals, by drawing enemy fire and providing precise counterfire AND provide fighter defences for Emperor's Hammer ships and installations. In this mission you will be deployed in exactly that, Fighter Suppression: The VSD Retribution, of the ISDII Kawolski Battlegroup, has gone to the "Imperial Broadcasting Corporation" base in the Phare System to pick up supplies and today's newspaper for the Battlegroup. Since the IBC has been harrassed by aggressive competitors lately Pyr Squadron will fly cover for the operation. 2. The attackers at the IBC base might have been Rebel, but they were part of the new republic fleet run by the Duke of Perlemian, who also owns the media corporation that's the direct competitor of IBC in this region of the Galaxy. Strangely, they were going for the printing ink and printing equipment - which might mean the Duke is having financial problems. But, since the TIE Corps has received no official call for help from the Corporate Division at this time, we are not getting involved. We'll be transfering part of the cargo we picked up at the base from the VSD Retribution to the Frigate Venom, which is currently escorting a small convoy of similar goods on route to the Sovereign. Pyr Squadron will be deployed for to provide cover to the operation. Stay on your toes, our captain was surpriced by the use of high-tech craft by the rebels - and our TIE Interceptors aren't really a match for those according to official sources. 3. The New Republic forces that attacked us during the cargo transfer were of the same fleet that attacked the IBC base before - which means we won't wait for an official request from the Corporate Division anymore to deal with them. Since the rebels seem to be after our most basic supplies, even printing ink and newspapers, our Commodore assumes that they are trying to supply their own media corporation without having to spend hard cash on it. We're going to deal with that in the most direct way: We're sending a small attack force to the base of their media corporation and destroy it completely... solving the problems of both sides in this conflict. Pyr Squadron will fly cover for the attacking craft. 4. Apparently the base we destroyed wasn't working on newspapers and saterday morning cartoons after all... but on some kind of weapons development. Our staff has contacted the Science Office on the matter - but they also don't know how paper, printing ink, copper wire and fertilizer can be of any importance. To find out the ISDII Kawolski has been sent to the IBC base we were first attacked at to collect some of these goods. The few captures we were able to make at the New Republic base might still crack under interrogation after which the Science Office will try to duplicate their work. The ISDII Kawolski will launch an Assault Transport to pick up the goods. These will take a few minutes to get loaded on board at the station so Pyr Squadron will be deployed to secure the area. NOTE ------------------- You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there) AND the E-Wing and K-Wing Patches. To fly as a team all players need the same version, make sure you all have the update by lucasarts installed. Other Information ----------------- This is the First release of a quickly made battle.
