Significant events of childhood:
Imperial city, or what it used to be called was home. Dau was born to a wealthy military arms dealer during the height of the Empire's last days, and was raised on the ideals of being in the Empire. Loyalty was not to the Emperor himself, but to the Empire first and foremost. After all, as far as Dau's parents were concerned who needed loyalty to a person when they had the credits to do with as they pleased by just working the Imperial system. By the time Dau turned 14, he was ready to apprentice to learn the tricks of the trade of his Father's business, perhaps running it someday, but instead he found out his greatest passion after flying in a Lambda-class shuttle above Coruscant...flying. With his parents credits, and blessing, he went to a trade school to learn shuttle piloting, in hopes of working full time for his father in a pilots capacity instead of merely management which Dau distasted. Bureaucracy wasn't for him. Unfortunately fate wasn't for him either.
Significant events of adulthood:
When Dau reached adulthood, his life seemed on the road to success and increased wealth, but then the rebellion came in full force to the old colony worlds next to the core worlds. At that time Dau had been studying basic medicine courses via hyper-links from Coruscant, and was just finishing up a loading of bacta for another trade run, when he heard whispers near the shuttles cockpit. A robed man was arguing with the co-pilot of Dau's shuttle. AT first he was about to inquire about the argument, when the man pulled out a sporting blaster and shot Dau's co-pilot. Ducking behind one of the nearest bacta crates in the shuttles cargo hold, Jerod quickly found a med kit and a hypo full of sedatives. With no other weapon available to him, the young man waited in silence for the robed man to pass to exit the shuttle, and jumped him, pressing the hypo into the robed mans shoulder. Dragging him back into the shuttle, Dau went to his wounded co-pilot and attempted to save him...until the man confessed to being an Alliance sympathizer. At that moment instead of continuing to save the man, something popped in Dau. He merely stopped and called in the nearest armed guards to drag both men away. Dau had never before not tried to help someone...but the the thought of helping those that would just as easily kill him in return was ludicrous. For his actions in capturing spies, he was allowed entrance into an Imperial Flight academy. Several months later, the tragedy with his family would only strengthen his anti-Alliance/Republic sediments, and urge his willingness to go into military service, forgoing his families now defunt buisiness.
Alignment and attitude:
Dau is relatively a good hearted man, but he feels life must be orderly and full of more answers then questions. Those that don't follow the Imperial way of life are not worthy to be treated kindly all the time. Politics mean little to him, however, just duty for the Empire. If the end justifies the means, he'll do it. The New Republic/Rebel Alliance are just misguided in their ways, and cause more problems then they say the solve. After all the Old Republic fell before, why wouldn't this new one fall? When dealing with non-humans though, Jerod is not against talking with them as long as he is alone with them. The idea that only humans are superior never really caught on with his dogma training as a child. After all he loves droids, and they aren't even human.
Previous occupations:
Shuttle pilot: Corellian Trade routes Flight Nurse: Corellian Trade routes
Hobbies
Droids. Dau considers them to be the only friends he has at times. He currently owns a Verpine Protocol driod named AayKay (pronounced like AK), much to his superiors disappointment in such a hybrid humanoid form. He wishes to learn more about droid programming so he can modify his companion someday. Dau can also be seen cooking up a mean meal in the flight kitchen for his squadmates. He's also learning how to play percussion instruments with AayKay.
Tragedies in life:
Dau lost his entire family during a Rebel raid on one of his parents arms facilities. They were inspecting the grand opening and performing the opening ceremonies at the time. The raid lasted but a mere half hour, and Dau to this day believes the rebels to be at fault and blames himself for not being there, even though the Empire provided no armed patrols during the ceremony. After the incident, most of his credits that he could not get his hands on and liquid assets were taken in by the Imperial nobility, again he blamed the rebels for his loss of wealth instead of the Empire.
Phobias and allergies:
Dau is terribly afraid of arachnoids after sitting on one during his first shuttle run. He is constantly checking his fighters and quarters for any infestations. Species like the Verpine don't bother him much however.
Views on the Empire and the Emperor's Hammer:
Pro-Imperial, but harbors no feelings for any leaders, just the Imperial way of government and the military it runs. Dau personally believes it to be superior to all other forms.
Reason for enlisting in the Emperor's Hammer:
It's the only way to fly. Plus, he's a bit vain in liking the idea of ranks and medals.
Other comments:
Unknown to Dau, his father was of a near-human species whose only difference is that they live for several hundred years. Physically he looks perfectly human, and no one is the wiser. For now, he lives life with the knowledge he will live a normal human life......but what will become of him and his position in the Empire should his not-so-perfect human heritage be discovered? Recently however, Dau was approached by one of the dark brotherhood. The reason? None other then he was force-sensitive as another side-effect of his near-human heritage. A rarity in the the days of the Empire. The so-called Jedi were all but extinct. Personally he saw it as mumbo-jumbo, but when the dark-adept pushed Dau into the bulkhead for his disobedience, that changed real quick. Dau was given a choice. Join the Brotherhood or perish beneath their wrath. They know of his heritage and have yet to reveal it to Dau, using it as a weapon against his career should he decide to leave the Brotherhood.
