IWATS, the EH's premier training academy, has 14 open professor positions available. The positions are:

Duties for these positions include keeping the course site in good working order, making updates as necessary, promotion of your course in the EH, processing graduates and reporting to the Training Officer. If you're interested in applying for one of these positions, write an application to fc@emperorshammer.org with the subject "I can teach!". Flight Members, Flight leaders and members of similar positions in the rest of the EH are encouraged to apply.

Within the last few months quite a few pilots have been skipping missions when flying battles from our mission compendium. Usually when a pilot submits a battle with a skipped mission his Commander is to get a notice from the database while attempting to submit the pilot file, the database tells the Commander or Flag that the file is corrupted and/or missions have been skipped.

The message looks a little something like this:

"This is not the correct pilot file for this battle. The wrong number of missions has been played. The pilot file is invalid."

Whenever you get that notice when you submit a battle do not check the no high scores box and submit it anyway Doing so will result in having me receive the e-mail notice and eventually removing the battle from the pilot's record.

If it happens once I understand, but if it is repeated frequently by CMDRs and Flags then I will be forced to take disciplinary action.

Brought to you by the VSD Aggressor, this will be a TC only XWA Skirmish Multiplayer Competition. Unlike normal XWA 1v1 or 2v2 MP, skirmishes involve greater numbers of pilots as well as capital ships and other AI controlled assets and therefore skirmishes become a totally different multiplayer experience.

DATE & TIME
The competition will start on the 15th of January at 7PM EST and end on the 16th at 1AM EST. We will be using the COO approved files at http://sarin.minos.net/files/skirmishes.zip

TEAMSPEAK
It is strongly encouraged that all participants download and use Teamspeak during the competition, http://www.goteamspeak.com/news.php Even if you do not have a Mic it's still great to listen to your team-mates. A server will be provided for your use during this competition, it can be found at (66.246.122.69:8270).

The position of Tactical Coordinator for X-wing Vs. TIE Fighter is now open for applications. Requirements are:

-Extensive experience with XvT/BoP mission creation
-Passed both XTM 1 and 2 and TACS Courses
-Must have previously held a TAC position of at least TCS

The position of TCC:XvT is very important, it was filled by me up until I pick a replacement. Applications are to be sent to VA Styles and RA Frodo March.

ASF:SC VII starts at Midnight GMT on Saturday, January 15th (7 PM Friday, January 14th). This comp will decide the Flagship of the ASF along with the ASF Escort Squadron. You can keep track of current stats at: http://asfsc7.tiecorps.net/

Because of a dual outage, minos.net and gimmie.tudelft.nl, both the more known SCO site mirrors are now down. However, we have a new mirror at sco.emperorshammer.net.

This also works for any direct links in readme.txt files and such: replace "www.gimmie.tudelt.nl/homes/blok10/ender/sco" or "www.minos.net/~sco" with the new url.

Currently the new site is halfway between the old mirror and the minos site because the database has not been installed yet, meaning that sco urls ending in ".php" will probably give you errors.

The new site will be upgraded to a full SCO site. The gimmie.tudelft.nl will not be returning, as that location has been demolished.

As an extra, all the most important patches and files you may be needing, for example for the Casino Imperiale competition:

• EHSP-TIE: TIE Fighter 95 Ship Patch
• EHSP-XvT: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Ship Patch
• XWA S-Foils: X-Wing Alliance update patch to be bale to fly the GUN and MIS
• XP Installer: Utility needed to run SCO .bat patches (not EHSP) in XP.
• 32 bit TIE Patch: Replace the 16 bit version in the .bat patches (for all games) with this version if you run XP SP2.

The Tactical Office is in need of Testers (TCS) and Tacticians (TCT) for all of its platforms! The requirements are:
-Must have passed TACS
-Must have passed the mission creation course of the platform you are applying for.

All applications must go to RA Frodo March, VA Styles and the TCC of the division you are applying for.

Unfortunately, since Minos went down (and I used the IMAP flavor of e-mail) I lost all of the CoL recommendations that were sent in. Please re-send them to ops@emperorshammer.org by Friday, January 14th at 11:59 EST. That also means if you couldn't find the time to send them in the past week then you still have half a week to do so.

Earlier this week Minos.net (and all related services) went down. Turtle, as many of you know, is headed to Iraq to serve in the United States Army and will be gone for 18 months. I talked to his wife earlier today, and she thinks that most likely his server was unplugged. She's going to try and get it back online if she can. Unfortunately, since Turtle is out of the country, Minos probably is not a very reliable hosting service. If it comes back online, please back-up all of your files and try to find new hosting (/me pokes the new FC).

Due to this outage, I have switched my e-mail address. To avoid spam, I'm not going to post it here, but the ops@emperorshammer.org redirect should now point to my new address. Overview

The position of Training Officer is one of the most demanding in the Emperor's Hammer. The position covers a wide range of duties and the successful candidate will be expected to lead by example.

Selection Criteria – Essential

1. Proven experience in running competitions, preferably involving a scope larger than a TIE Corps Wing (or similar)
2. Good written communication skills
3. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
4. Fast email response time.
5. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer.
6. Experience at some level of command.

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1. Previous training experience
2. Previous successful large-scale competition experience

Addressing the Selection Criteria

When addressing the selection criteria, you must supply supporting evidence to back up your claim of meeting the criteria. A generally accepted model is the STAR model, where you outline a Situation, Task, Action and Resolution relating to the criteria. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position.

References

You must include at least three (3) references in your application. At least one must be a current or former superior (preferably current). Ensure you have their permission first. If it is found out that you have used someone's name without their permission, your application will be disqualified.

Performance Management

Performance will be evaluated in a number of key areas. These include submission of reports, number of complaints from members, online conduct, achieving tasks and duties outlined in the Training Manual, as well as tasks outlined in the EH Tasks List for this position. Above average performance will be rewarded, while below average performance, if continual, will result in removal from the position.

The bi-annual awarding of the Commendation of Loyalty to members of the Emperor's Hammer who have displayed tremendous dedication to the Fleet is approaching. And again, I'm late. I have included information for the Command Officers, Advisors and Subgroup Commanders below.

TIE Corps
Each Squadron Commander can make recommendations to their Wing Commander who will choose three (3) members of their wing to receive the CoL and forward the names to their Commodore and Battlegroup Commodore. Each BGCOM may recommend up to three (3) more awards for their flag officers. The Battlegroup Commander will collate the awards for their battlegroup and forward the names (with pin numbers) to the Flight Officer (fo@emperorshammer.org) and myself (ops@emperorshammer.org).

Additionally, the Commander of each Elite Squadron may recommend one (1) of their members to receive the CoL. This should be sent directly to the Flight Officer and myself. Therefore the FO and I should only be receiving CoL recommendations from the Battlegroup Commanders and the Commanders of the Elite Squadrons.

Dark Brotherhood
Each Clan Consul may make up to three (3) recommendations from their members, which they will forward to the Chancellor and Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood. The Grand Master will also be able to make up to five (5) additional recommendations for members of the Dark Brotherhood. Once collated, the Dark Brotherhood recommendations should be submitted to the Operations Officer (ops@emperorshammer.org) by the Grand Master only.

Hammer's Fist, Infiltrator Wing, Corporate Division, Bounty Hunters Guild, Intelligence Division, Directorate, Fringe and Imperial Senate
Each of the above listed subgroups will be able to recommend up to ten (10) members to receive the Commendation of Loyalty. These recommendations are to be sent to the Operations Officer (ops@emperorshammer.org) only by the leader of each respective subgroup.

Emperor's Hammer Command Staff and Advisors
Recommendations from each of the Command Staff and Advisors will be received on a case-by-case basis. Recommendations should be sent directly to the Operations Officer (ops@emperorshammer.org).

Submission Date
All recommendations must be submitted to myself (and the Flight Officer where required) by the 10th of January at 12:00 Midnight EST. That's one week. Hurry hurry.

From RA Frodo March: As part of his Quest for more missions, RA Frodo March has made a Mission Creation Incentive Competition for the Entire Emperor's Hammer, the pilot who submits the most battles to the Tactical Office each month for the next three will receive an IS-PR (as long as its more then 3 battles). And an IS-GR to the pilot who submits the most Free Missions for those three Months (as long as its more then 5 missions).
