As you may have noticed on the right hand side of the news page, we're up to $500 of donations so far. This money will go towards assisting Admiral Joe in printing good quality pamphlets and other materials to hand out to people at Celebration 3. This entire exercise is very very important for the Emperor's Hammer, as we're one of the few fan clubs at the event and this will provide exceptional exposure for us.

The Avenger Task Force Battlegroup Commander has been awarded the Grand Order of the Emperor for his exceptioanl recruitment effort. Through his efforts in posting a recruitment notice on a German Star Wars message board, over twenty (20) new recruits have joined the TIE Corps.

The TIE Corps has never been good at promoting ourselves to outside parties and more than ever, we need to do that. TK-2107's effort showed initiative and a drive to improve the TIE Corps. An exceptional effort on his part.

Overview

The Operations Officer is responsible for the timely awarding of medals within the TIE Corps, providing consultative feedback on high level medals and maintaining the Operations Manual and related materials. The position requires a consistent approach, in the processing of medals and uniforms, as well as the reasons for approval and denial.

Selection Criteria – Essential

1. Good written communication skills
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a range of EH personnel, including the Fleet Commander.
5. Experience at some level of command.

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1. Graphics ability
2. Prior experience in a similar position

Addressing the Selection Criteria

When addressing the selection criteria, you must supply supporting evidence to back up your claim of meeting the criteria. A generally accepted model is the STAR model, where you outline a Situation, Task, Action and Resolution relating to the criteria. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position.

References

You must include at least three (3) references in your application. At least one must be a current or former superior (preferably current). Ensure you have their permission first. If it is found out that you have used someone's name without their permission, your application will be disqualified.

Performance Management

Performance will be evaluated in a number of key areas. These include submission of reports, number of complaints from members, online conduct, achieving tasks and duties outlined in the Training Manual, as well as tasks outlined in the EH Tasks List for this position. Above average performance will be rewarded, while below average performance, if continual, will result in removal from the position.

The Communications Office is pleased to annouce the new Medals of Communication system. A system has not been in place for a very long time and was last canned because it became unmanageable. This plan should have no such concerns. All necessary information on how this new system operates can be found:

If you aren't aware, the Medals of Communication used to be awarded for posting on the message board. Much like the Legions of Combat, they have different 'levels'. These are:-

- MoC - Bronze Oak Cluster (BoC)
- MoC - Silver Oak Cluster (SoC)
- MoC - Gold Oak Cluster (GoC)
- MoC - Platinum Oak Cluster (PoC)
- MoC - Diamond Oak Cluster (DoC)

This has been the result of the last two months of work, feedback and more feedback, so this system should run fairly smoothly. Of course more feedback is welcome.

Just a quick one from me, folks. As I announced yesterday, OCad Zeke Freeman has taken command of Vendetta Detachment (for those of you living under rocks, that would our our gaming unit...). Also, Major Astix has returned from his retirement to aid our venerable CO in his efforts to spur the Hammer's Fist gaming! Together, they'll be working very closely to bring you the benefits of active multiplayer and single player gaming -- so if you have ideas, suggestions or comments, direct it to all three of them.

Just a small reminder to the fleet that when you submit battles for Star Wars Galactic BattleGrounds they must have at least 4 missions just like it says in the TAC manual.

All previously submitted 3 mission SWGB battles will not be rejected, however, as of now I'll expect them to have at least 4 missions or else they will be denied. Thanks!

The Emperor's Hammer domain has been updated with news and events around the fleet.

As detailed in the Internet Office Report #3, I will be requiring all Emperor's Hammer websites to be submitted to myself for inclusion in a central database detailing all Emperor's Hammer sites. All webmasters, of sites ranging from Command Officer sites right down to squadron sites are required to submit the details of their site. Contact me at io@emperorshammer.org with the following information.

• Name of the Site
• The link to the site
• Subgroup it Pertains to
• Unit type (Squadron, Battleteam, Wing etc.)
• What units it falls under (eg. Odin Squadron is on Wing XIII of the ISD Greywolf in the Aggressor Strike Force in the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps Strike Fleet.)
• The current webmaster/maintainer of the site.
• The commanding officer of the unit
• Any and all scripting and database technologies it employs.

You have two weeks to either submit your current site details or contact me regarding why you do not have a website for your unit and when you will have one produced. Remember: All units in the TIE Corps are required to have a functioning, regularly website. Any sites not associated to a particular office or unit (eg. GysNet) are still required to be submitted.

Subject: Tie Corps Information Directive

The Flight Office on orders from High Admiral Cyric has issued the Tie Corps Information Directive. All Tie Corps leadership (CMDR, WC, COM, BGCOM) are hear by directed to submit a weekly report and upload it to the Database. Furthermore all Tie Corps units are to request and update their Tie Corps Message Boards. Failure to comply with this directive within one week will result in administrative punishment. Failure to comply with this directive after two weeks will result in termination of Command.

The ability to communicate is a cornerstone to Imperial Operations. Prospective Cadets to the Platform Daedalus must have an up to date source of information pertaining to your units so they can make an educated selection of their prospective squadrons.

On the weekend Lieutenant Colonel Keller officially stepped down as Wing Commander of Wing XVI due to increasing RL demands. I'm sorry to see him go and would like to thank him for the tremendous amount of work he's put into the continuation of the Freeworlds platform. Keller has taken up a FM's position in Hawk (Eagle) Squadron, With his departure, I'm now looking for a replacement Wing Commander. Applicants should be able to meet the following requirements:

• At least 4 months experience of command in the TIE Corps (at Squadron Commander level or above)
• No significant HCI convictions in the last 12 months
• A high level of knowledge about the Freeworlds platform
• Familiar with all EH and TIE Corps protocols and policies

The successful applicant will be expected carry out the following duties:

• Show an active presence on the Freeworlds Server
• Attend as many Territorial Engagements as possible
• Aid the Commodore in updating the email list and Freeworlds user list
• Help in determining the future course of the platform in the TIE Corps
• All the regular Wing Commander duties as described in the Training Manual

I'll be accepting applications until Saturday 19th March which should be plenty of time. You may include up to two references, one of which should be from a current or former superior (make sure you have their permission first!). Last month the EH had great overalll success with Colonel Brucmack winning both the XVT and XWA WoWs and OHC Scoser winning the JO WoW. Good luck this month!

This week, the Revenge of the Sith trailer was shown on TV, plus for Hyperspace members on Starwars.com I've managed to find a couple decently quality versions. We have a Quicktime version at 640x360 for 35MB and slightly higher quality AVI version (896 x 512) at 52MB. The AVI version requires the Xvid MPEG-4 codec.

XvT Free 177, XvT Free 178 and XvT Free 179 have been released as a 3 part series together in the mission compendium!

Which proves that when you listen to the TAC manual, you actually get them released together. Any relevent pilot files can be sent to myself.

FA Khameir Sarin has been appointed my new CA. He will also handle the duties of COO and SHW for the DB. His primary tasks will be Report tracking, which means that in the next few weeks, those who don't hand reports in in a timely fashion will answer for it, and he will run the TC weekly meetings.

FA Kham will also be the contact for the Flight Office for FreeWorlds and the new IA when it is released by the SCO.

- So I was looking at my report... and then the Internet Office Report, and then the Chancellor Report. Frankly, I was jealous that they had such pretty report formats while I had a basic, tough on the eyes, u-g-l-y,? you get the picture.

- I need a HTML TO report template made, zipped and sent to to@emperorshammer.org by March 18th! Graphics may be used... minimally, tastefully and the must NOT contain text (ie. no individual topic banners), sections should be easily customizable and follow TO Report headings. A space MUST be included at the top for a TO banner.

- Winner receives IS-GR, second place IS-SR (awards downgraded 1 level if less than 5 participants)

This is an announcement for the entire Emperor's Hammer. If you're in charge of an IRC channel, be it for a Wing, Battlegroup, or major Subgroup channel, you must now get it registered with X as soon as possible. It's pretty simple to do this:-

- Go to the CService website http://cservice.undernet.org and login. Once logged in, you should see the link to "Register a channel" on the left hand side.

- Get the CService nicknames of TEN other members. It's encouraged that those people either be those who frequent the particular channel, those in my Idler Squadron, or other EH members who use IRC a lot. IN ALL CASES GET THE USER'S PERMISSION FIRST! Use these nicknames to fill out the relevant details on the registration form on the CService site.

- Make sure those ten people plus yourself (and others of course) are in the channel for as long as possible. They must also talk - X is denied to channels where nothing but idling occurs.

If you need CService nicks desperately, contact me at ehcomm@gmail.com and I will assign someone from Idler Squadron to your channel.

The participation for February wasn't wonderful, but we did get quite a few submissions and attempts to win a medal. Only one pilot managed to create enough, and that was for the Free mission division.

Congradulations to VA Gidda for building a total of 6 free missions during the month of February, hence winning the IS-GR! Good Job Gidda!

First place for battles was MAJ Chris Cox with two battles, sadly not enough for a medal.

March has now begun, I look forward to the submissions and I hope to be able to award an IS-PR, as well as some SECOND place medals for this final month of the competition.
