Operation Mongoose - Summary

BGN Xantros

30 May, 2010 13:51
18 ABY

Xantros made his way to the Legion’s cantine. After the Operation and making an official report, which covered that matter, the newly promoted Brigadier General was tired. All he dreamt about was to get some drink and rest. Still, there were some issues he wanted to get done with before he could go for vacation. Though the Operation was a success in matter of its objective, it revealed weaknesses of the Legion.

Here are the results of the Operation Mongoose, based on the amount of quality posts, made in the Run-On portion of the Operation.

PFC Tuba – 16 posts

SSG Kal Vau – 8 posts

SSG Jason Longorior – 7 posts

SPC Jag Keran – 4 posts

GSG Torres – 1 post

BGN Xantros – 6 posts

PFC Tuba has won the Operation Mongoose in the Run-On Category and earned Cross of Destruction with Platinum Star Cluster.

SSG Kal Vau has made 2nd and earned Cross of Destruction with Gold Star Cluster.

Finally, SSG Jason Longorior has placed 3rd and earned Cros of Destruction with Silver Star Cluster.

Congrats on your well-deserved awards!

Thanks to all participants for making posts in the Run-On. Unfortunately, it was the only category, where I received any submission.

Until the next Operation!

After almost a week, we have two members who have excelled in their studies of the new course that was released in the Shadow Academy.

The first award went to one of our members from Validus, the newly promoted Acolyte Tuba.

Our second winner of this prestigious competition is a veteran member, who used to be a Headmaster for the Shadow Academy. Thats right you guessed it SBM Anahorn Dempsey.

Congratulations guys, well done on acing the exam. Your medals should be with you, or arriving shortly in the case of Dempsey.

On a side note, we are also very close to the 25th exam being taken under my reign at the shadow academy, who will get the special prize? What is the special prize? Does anyone really know what I'm doing?

Operation Mongoose: Phase II

COL Xantros

05 May, 2010 11:35
18 ABY

Xantros spent almost whole day in the interrogation room of the Special Operations Command, but he was satisfied. He had to admit that the leader of the Black Spear brainwashed his subordinates really well. Typical ways of interrogation, including modern and sophisticated tortures, gave no result. The prisoners seemed to be ready to bear anything in their crusade. However, they did not expect anyone to use really old-fashioned tortures like a beetle. After a while, its steps became so annoying that the prisoners agreed to speak.

The information gathered during the interrogation and extracted from intercepted documents was really useful. The Special Operation Command members were able to establish a biography of the Black Spear’s leader and the next target of the organisation.

Black Spear leader

Name: Iruvin Attel

Race: Human

Planet: Corellia

Height: 1,75 meter

Weight: 65 kg

Characteristic features: very charismatic, small scar on right cheek

Biography:

There is very little information about Attel’s past. It is known that he spent his childhood on Corellia. He was recorded in the database of Corellian police as a notorious criminal. He committed his first crime at the age of 13. In several years, he was accused as an initiator of couple of murders and thefts. However, due to his charisma, he was able to ‘speak out’ the permission to leave the Corellia with his younger brother. He forced the fourteen year old boy to be a thief in a small criminal band he organised. This resulted in a tragedy, as his brother was killed during an action of Imperial Stormtroopers. Then, Attel disappeared for almost twenty five years. It is not known what he was doing during that time. We suspect that his hatred to the Empire has been getting stronger and stronger. Probably during that period of his life, he organised the war band he leads currently; recruited members, and gathered equipment and ships. Almost a year ago, he started acting against the Empire.

Attel is an extremely charismatic person. It is very hard to resist his will, as he easily recognises dreams and weak points of the people with whom he speaks. It is suspected that he may subconciously use the Force to manipulate people and convince them that he is the only one to help them. Thus, he shall be always recognised as extremely dangerous.

Howevever, his charisma may be the key to our victory over the Black Spear. The evidence, gathered during the first phase of the Operation Mongoose, and during the interrogation of captured members of the Blask Spear, suggests that the organisation consists of people with completely different characters and businesses. Before they joined the Black Spear, they very often fought against each other. It seems that only Attel’s charisma keeps the organisation in one piece. Thus, the second phase of ‘Operation Mongoose’ is to kill Attel and cause destruction of the Black Spear due to internal conflicts.

Target info

Planet name: Toras

Size: 80,000 km (diameter)
Type of Atmosphere: Class M (breatheable)
Climate: Moderate, warm
Races: Humans
Inhabitants: Humans
Capital City: Altix
Major Cities: Voron, Sintil, Equina
Imported Goods: High tech
Exported Goods: None,
Type of Economy: Financial sector

Toras is a planet in Mardis Star System, located nearby the Hydian Way and Toprawa. It is a local financial center, but without widespread meaning for the Galaxy. However, it is known as a tax heaven, where very low taxes are imposed. Also, the financial operations here are big enough to cover illegal money transfers and to become a source of finance for the Black Spear.

Toras is ruled by a president, who has the authority over all other ruling bodies. We know that Attel and his subordinates are going to take over the planet and so, they must cause an upraising that would removed the president. In order to prevent that, we shall dispatch our forces to intercept Attel and his comrades on the planet, before they can cause any troubles. If our predictions are correct, the Black Spear shall fall apart without his charismatic leadership, so our main goal is to kill him and his guards.
