During my tenure as Grand Master I've been reluctant to take an apprentice and appoint a Deputy Grand Master.  There have been many reasons why I didn't, including keeping people active. I had a whole stack of applications to sort through when I decided that ultimately I needed a DGM. All were fine candidates but the person I chose was truly outstanding. Someone I trust implicitly with both the care of the current Dark Brotherhood and its future course.

 

Its my great pleasure to announce that Sith Battlemaster Zephon is hereby promoted the rank of Dark Side Adept and appointed to the position of Deputy Grand Master. 

 

I first met Zephon in TOR, briefly before he was called away to military service.  What impressed me were his teamwork skills, ability to make any situation fun, and his easy going personality.  Then I became further impressed as others talked of him often in his absence in a very positive light.  Upon his return earlier this year Zephon not only rejoined TOR and quickly became a member of the elite Tau Squadron, he also became very active in non TOR gaming and fiction pursuits.  He has always volunteered to help in any way he can, often taking duties willingly he isn't obligated to.  He always has new ideas and enthusiasm for the Emperor's Hammer, our activities, and especially our members. He has a quick mind full of new ideas and looks forward to the future of the club and supports any efforts to develop toward a brighter future. To sum up, I'm mightily impressed with Zephon.

 

I'd like everyone, regardless of their primary interest in the Dark Brotherhood, to join me in welcoming the new Deputy Grand Master, and give him any assistance they can as he settles in.  Often we talk about the honor of sitting on the Dark Council, in this case its our honor to welcome Zephon to it. 

 

Its my pleasure to announce two new games for official Emperor's Hammer activity! We now have Age of Empires II and Injustice Gods Among us available as EH platforms!  A classic RTS that many of our members already play and the first ever EH fighting game.

 

I'd also like to let everyone know that we are now accepting non gaming night entries for several games to earn Clusters of Fire in the Dark Brotherhood.  If you are playing either of the two new games (Age of Empires II or Injustice) or Empire at War or its expansion Forces of Corruption. Simply email a screenshot of your win to your Consul and cc: me and you'll get activity credit for playing and a Cluster of Fire for a win.  If you are playing another Eh member or members one screenshot will suffice for activity, but only the winner gets the Cluster of Fire.

 

The new games open opportunities for members to expand their playing and hopefully the new format will also alleviate some of the timezone concerns for our members that live outside of EH Standard timne and allow them to become active and get credit for their activity. If this goes well we may expand the idea to current platform games like Killing Floor, Team Fortress II, etc. Let me know what you think.
