Per the COO, AD Miles Prower, please note the following rule modifications for the Legion of Skirmish and Legion of Combat effective immediately:

Custom Battles for Star Conflict are no longer eligible for the Legion of Skirmish and Legion of Combat due to concerns about spamming/padding. To be clear, this is specifically the games's Custom Battle mode, not any of the other modes.

X-Wing vs TIE Fighter is eligible for battles/missions built in or from the Battle Centre, no custom battles. The mission setup and scoreboard screenshots are required for eligibility.

X-Wing Alliance now requires the pre-mission screenshot showing the players and craft assignments and the scoreboard for eligiblity. Craft assignments for PvE/Co-Op now require the AI to be using equal or better craft for the Legion of Skirmish. (ex. no Human T/Is vs AI T/Fs. Human T/Is vs AI T/Is or T/Ds are OK). For Legions of Combat, craft must be the same on each side anyways.

For a long time now, we've been determined to keep membership requirements as low as we can. Communicating with your CMDR keeps you from being AWOL, the initial training requirements are the simplest they've ever been, and we've been diligent about making sure that someone has reached out to the pilot before we actually process an AWOL request.

In some situations, though, squadrons have been stymied by having too many pilots that aren't actively participating in what we have going on. We've seen the effect that has on CMDRs in particular, who often assume they've done something wrong or have dug their squadrons into a hole they can't get out of.

To help prevent this, CMDRs will be able to ask that FMs and FLs be transferred to the Reserves if the pilot hasn't been active for two consecutive months. For 'active', we're using a very broad definition, pretty much anything more than just communicating. Flying missions, participating in competitions, working on Wiki articles, taking IU courses, writing fiction, and creating graphics are the basic kinds of things we think of when we're discussing whether a pilot's been active or not.

We appreciate that all of you have joined up with us and want to be a part of this community. We're happy to have pilots assigned to the Reserves be on the mailing list, chat on the Discord server, post on the message boards, etc. Sometimes pilots lose track of how long it's been since they've been an active part of their squadrons, and the goal here is to allow the CMDR to make the call in situations where the pilot doesn't have time for us but isn't proactively thinking about the Reserves.

It's been six years since we've grown enough to open another ship, but the time has finally come.

The ISDII Challenge has been home to many legends in the TIE Corps, so beloved by its pilots that http://isdchallenge.org/ is still online to this day. And we have one of its heroes to lead it into a new era; congratulations to High Admiral Anahorn Dempsey who will be commanding the Challenge's battlegroup as its Commodore.

Wing X will be activated aboard the Challenge and its squadrons will bear the names Cyclone, Inferno, Tempest, Thunder, Tornado, and Typhoon. One of these squadrons will be activated immediately and needs a CMDR, any interested officers should email HA Dempsey ASAP. We'll also be asking for one squadron from Wing I and another from Wing II to transfer to Wing X under new names to balance the roster.



Good luck to HA Dempsey on her latest assignment to a leadership role here in the TIE Corps, I know her fellow admirals are looking forward to working with her again.

To the future pilots of the ISDII Challenge, know that not only do you have the ship's legacy to uphold but the ISDII Hammer and ISDII Warrior aren't going to take it easy on you. They'll be challenging you for every ship title and won't take kindly to an usurper trying to claim what they've been fighting for over the past six years.

The official announcement's not out for a few more days, but it seems like we’ve got a brand new Star Wars singleplayer and multiplayer flight game headed our way - Star Wars: Squadrons. The official trailer below will premiere on the 15th at 8am Pacific (3pm UTC).

Star Wars: Battlefront II was released in 2005 as a sequel to 2004’s Star Wars Battlefront. The official multiplayer servers were shut down in 2014, though the game’s been playable in Windows since then through GameRanger and new servers for the GOG and Steam versions of the games launched in 2017. The TIE Corps already rewards credit for activity in two later titles from the same series, Star Wars Battlefront (2015) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2017), that we’ve been referring to as EABF1 and EABF2.

Effective immediately, the TIE Corps will now award Legions of Combat for multiplayer PvP victories in Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005), which we’re calling Classic Battlefront 2 or CBF2 to help distinguish it from the other Battlefront games we support. Also, we’ll award Legions of Skirmish for multiplayer PvE victories in CBF2, though we know that most matches will be PvP because of how the game tries to balance teams.

Screenshots: If there’s more than one EH player in the match, you’ll want to scroll up or down the scoreboard until they’re all visible or take multiple screenshots. Players are listed in yellow, bots are listed in grey. To be eligible for the LoC or LoS, each EH player in the match will need to have gotten credit for at least one kill (the second stats column), be a member of the winning team (reflected by the team scores at the top), and at least two human players will need to have been active in the match (yellow names).

Classic Battlefront 2 already appears on our submission forms in the database thanks to GN Dempsey’s quick work. Thanks, Dempsey!

It's my duty to inform the Corps of the administrative action that's been carried out with regard to one of our members. LCM Mirei Seppen has been reduced in rank to Lieutenant following the Fleet Commander's review of several breaches of the Articles of War (AoW). LT Seppen has also been placed on probation for the next six months where any further violation of the AoW will result in immediate expulsion.

Without going into too much detail, I'd like to explain which behaviors led to this action being needed.

The officers that volunteer for leadership positions here in the TIE Corps and the wider Emperor’s Hammer are taking time out of their lives to help run the club. While there are in-club rewards for doing so, it’s still something we treat with respect because they’re making a sacrifice for the good of the community. Having complaints against them voiced in public is something we don’t want to see, particularly when those complaints come across in a mocking or insulting manner. Sharing these complaints privately is better but keep in mind that who you’re speaking to could still rightfully object. Expressing complaints publicly aggravates the situation by creating a one-sided narrative for members that don’t have a working knowledge of that particular officer’s activity.

If a member takes something that was written to them privately and later misrepresents it when they talk about it publicly, that’s problematic because it tends to cast the other party in a negative light. Ideally there wouldn’t be a public discussion at all about things that were worked out in private, but when it happens, there needs to not be any kind of intentionally negative distortion of the original message.

Avoid bringing gender, race, personal health, politics, religion, etc. into conversations. As one might imagine, people sometimes feel very strongly about these subjects in ways you wouldn’t expect, potentially escalating a conflict and words being said that can’t be taken back.

Specifically, these were the regulations from the AoW that LT Seppen was found to have breached:

• 4.3 - Disrespect towards a superior: An act towards a superior, either in the direct chain of command, or superior in rank or position, that mocks, degrades, insults or otherwise disrespects that superior
• 4.8 - Provoking speech: Speech designed to provoke a response, including to insult, injure or bait the target. The speech can be on a public forum such as message boards and IRC or in a direct communique between the parties, such as one-on-one messages, emails, etc.
• 4.9 - Conduct unbecoming an officer: Conduct that reflects badly upon the reputation and standing of the Emperor's Hammer. This can include behavior that is immoral, rude, insulting, etc.
• 4.12 - Vilifying Speech: Demeaning or harassing speech based upon a member's race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, any mental and/or physical disabilities or illnesses. It should be noted that in some countries, such speech is a criminal offense.
• Reduced from a Class C offence to Class B as race was used as an explanation but not a direct attack, in this case

It’s our hope that we can forward from here on a more positive path. Having to take actions like this doesn’t bring us any joy, but they’re necessary to ensure that the community remains something that people want to be a part of.
