In the distant past, Iron Stars with Wings were included in the calculation for the Fleet Commander’s Honor Guard (FCHG) alongside single player mission completions, single player high scores, Legions of Combat, and Distinguished Flying Crosses (DFC). Multiplayer was eventually moved to its own combat rating, then MP PvE came along and spent a while in the multiplayer combat rating before the rating was split up into separate PvP and PvE ratings. Iron Stars remained in FCHG for a time, but after a while it became very noticeable that a lot of the Iron Stars being earned were coming from multiplayer competitions and being counted in a rating system that was otherwise focused on single player. We didn’t have a means of determining what kind of competition all the Iron Stars came from in order to count them towards a specific combat rating and sometimes competitions involved more than one type of gaming anyway, so we removed Iron Stars from FCHG and left them out of the rating systems.

Following the change to the uniform wings from being based on FCHG alone to all three rating systems added together, Iron Stars with Wings make sense to be brought back into the mix. Flight Certification Wings (FCW) now add all of a pilot’s points from the three rating systems together plus points for each Iron Star with Wings they’ve earned. This change is retroactive and all pilots’ FCW point totals have been adjusted to reflect the new calculation.

The FCW point value for each Iron Star with Wings depends on the level earned:

• Copper: 10 points
• Bronze: 12 points
• Silver: 14 points
• Gold: 16 points
• Platinum: 20 points

There’s a gap between Gold and Platinum because we have a new point value for the DFC: 18 points. DFCs count towards both FCW and the PvP Combat Rating, so any pilot with a DFC has had a few more points added to their PvP Combat Rating total as well.

Iron Stars with Ribbons are not included in this change. Iron Stars with Ribbons mostly come from non-gaming competitions and we’re keeping the FCW system focused on gaming. Specifically primary games, for anyone thinking about the secondary games.

This change is now live in the database thanks to the continuing efforts of the Internet Office team. Well done, team!

The Reconnaissance Office is pleased to select Alexandre Morgan as our new Assistant to the Reconnaissance Officer (ROA). Alexandre has shown a great desire to grow the presence of our club in the past few months, I look forward to working with him as we continue our efforts in the Reconnaissance Office.

When Fleet Admiral Miles Prower stepped down as Reconnaissance Officer he had a name in mind for his replacement... I agreed with him, but I wanted to try and more clearly define the duties of the Reconnaissance Officer before I offered them the job. I completed that last week and had the Logistics officer make those changes to the wiki.

I am happy to announce that as of today TheBlackxRanger has been placed in the position of Reconnaissance Officer and promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

Thanks to the swift and invaluable work of Internet Officer FA Turtle Jerrar, Star Wars: The Old Republic games can now be submitted for Legions of both types in the new database. Please review guidelines in the COO Manual to make sure your submissions are valid.

Along with database support, we will begin its first combat event at the top of the hour. Earn the most legions of any type while playing SWTOR, and the COO will compile two lists - one for Legions of Combat and another for Legions of Skirmish. The top earners in each list will receive Iron Stars. Review the combat event, Showdown on Ruhnuk, for more details.

Having already completed TCCORE and met all other prerequisites for the rank, I recommend his promotion to Lieutenant Commander happily. About 4000 years ago, the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire vied for control of the galaxy. Their clashes form the story of Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), which launched in 2011 and continues to receive new content. The TIE Corps will now support SWTOR as a primary game meaning that we’ll award Legions of Combat for the game’s PvP modes, Legions of Skirmish for its multiplayer PvE modes, and run competitions for the game that can award the Iron Star with Wings.

Before adopting a new primary game, there’s a fair amount of information we want to see so that we can decide whether a game lets players screenshot what we need for the two Legion awards. Many thanks to CPT Gytheran for putting that together for us!

Another necessary step for multiplayer support is compiling all the details that pilots will need on order to report activity in a game, which AD Silwar Naiilo has published in the COO Manual here. Thanks for doing that!

To succeed AD Silwar Naiilo, we’ve selected GN Stryker to be the next Battlegroup Commander of Battlegroup III. With many years of service to the TIE Corps in a variety of roles, Stryker has developed a wealth of experience that he’ll be able to share with the CMDRs of Wing X and use for the betterment of the entire battlegroup.

GN Stryker will take up his new role on Monday as AD Stryker, having been promoted to that rank in an admiralty position he held previously. Congratulations, AD Stryker!

CM Sylas Pitt stepped into Thunder to help bolster its ranks, leaving a legacy in their wake. During their time there, they set a shining example through fiction and constant IU study, and accumulating to smashing it out of the ball park during RtF in October with 310 LoSs awarded. Whilst they've returned to their Infiltrator roots in Raven, they continue to uphold the values of the TC. Sylas is a voice of reason, a steady hand and a mentor. With this I am honoured to recommend their promotion to Captain.

Wookiee has been a steady contributor to Lambda Squadron through his PvP flying, clocking 758 confirmed combat wins (LoCs) and 381 skirmishes (LoS) since his last promotion and successfully recruiting 7 new pilots for the Emperor's Hammer since February. In addition, he has been actively assisting Lambda's efforts to win several competitions, such as RtF2022, completing all our squadron tasks in Remob 2022 and pursuing a TCIB win, moonlighting as a singleplayer pilot. Despite his struggles in the latter, he has also endeavoured to increase our squadron citations by completing several battles whereby we needed a 6th pilot to complete them!

He is always willing to do what is needed and is a team-player. His continuing efforts in cross-organization events and his pleasant personality continue to light a beacon of joy and a reminder to enjoy ourselves as we fight our way through the galaxy.

The next Combat Operations Officer is AD Silwar Naiilo! AD Naiilo has served with distinction in a number of roles in the TIE Corps over the past couple of years and change with his most recent tour of duty as BGCOM of Battlegroup III being exemplary.

As COO, he’ll bring a wealth of experience to our team of volunteers that review multiplayer screenshots and run multiplayer events for the Corps. Having gotten some experience working with external events over the past few weeks, I’m glad to have someone to take over on those. Naturally, we’d like to get back into a routine on hosting internal events and the COO will be taking point on that effort. The COO also serves on the TIE Corps Command Staff, so he’ll have even more chances to give me feedback on what’s happening in the Corps and some of our decision-making processes.

Regarding the BGCOM role that has been vacated, I’m not seeking applications or expressions of interest at this time. I’ll let you all know if that changes.

He continues to be a valuable member of the Lambda Squadron despite refusing to take off his helmet.

Welcome to the first of many Elite Dangerous related news articles about our organizations step back into the game!

Squadron News: Currently the TC has a Squadron set up in the game that we encourage all members who have the game to join. Squadrons in the game are similar to Guilds within other games, and we would like to increase our presence within it! If you are looking for the group in game, the name is under Emperor's Hammer and the clan tag is EH94.

Home System news: Currently we are still in searching to find the perfect system to set up an EH base. Currently the majority of the Squadron is grouped in the Eravate system, making a temporary base in the Cleve Hub station by taking on any and all forms of work to save up on money for future endeavors.

Squadron Goals News: Currently at this time we are asking, for those interested, to join up the squadron and increase our presence in the game and finding a base of operations to settle in. The current Thargoid War (an alien life form currently attacking all human ships) is far away and not a concern at this time, nor do we have plans on joining the war.

G'DAY PILOTS OF THE TIE CORPS!

Wanted to give you all an update as many of you have asked, "what happened? Are you still running the podcast?" The answer is yes and the show is just currently on a slight hiatus due to scheduling and lack of manpower. While I do have folks helping me out with the show, I am still doing the majority of it plus all my current work within the TC plus real life juggling, you get the picture 'insert laugh track here'.

The AirLock Podcast will continue most likely sometime after the new year, but while the hiatus continues I am calling for volunteers for podcast team positions, the biggest of them are a manager team, and editors for the youtube channel uploads. Please note volunteering does not guarantee the position, as there are some expectations for the positions and we want to make sure you can handle them.

We will be back next year with a continuation of Season 2!
