Great battle! The missions were all very similar, but the last half of them you have the option of flying superiority or heavy strike, which makes it more interesting. A good challenge and a compelling, strategic storyline. Lots of grammar errors, but thats a beta testing issue, and doesn't hurt the battle much.

Woulda been a nice mission had the designer remembered he was making an XvT mission, not an XWA one. The battle is really hard on hard difficulty, but that isnt so much a problem. The problem is half the time you cannot complete the mission because of sloppy design. Example: To win, you have to destroy or drive off all Rebel forces. Unfortunately, this includes some Z-95s that, more often than not, never launch because of the craft limit. When the STRKC carrying them withdraws, you can no longer complete the mission. The designer should have had these fighters arrive from hyperspace as an alternative, and this huge, mission fatal bug would be fixed.

It didnt get a 0 because there were no serious bugs that weren't caught by beta testing. Heres the basic idea, and this is a spoiler because it is all the 6 missions in this battle amount to: Put the player in a T/D (superfighter) and launch horde after horde of inferior fighters (Z-95s, Supas) and see how bored the pilot gets as he slaughters wave after wave after wave of them. There's nothing beyond the simplest of stories, and there is no regard to objectives or completing tasks. Just KILL KILL KILL. Sorry, thats not what makes a good battle in my book. If you want to waste time obliterating helpless targets in a turkey shoot for an hour per mission, get this one. It's all the battle amounts to.

Excruciatingly simplistic turkey-shoot. Mission 2 is bugged also.

Very well put together, I really enjoyed this mission. Strategic movements are always a good addition to missions.

Great free mission, lots of fun, even if it is a T/D vs. the world type of battle.

The amusing storyline and chance to fly TIE Fighters for once create excellent potential for a great battle. Unfortunately, a blundering attempt at mission design leaves the player between extremely bored and extremely frustrated. In mission two, don't even bother turning on your guns, you don't fire a single shot. And in mission 4, get your invulnerability ready, since you'll be taking on a Corellian gunship, by yourself, in a TIE Fighter. To make matters even worse, if you lose two of your pitiful AI T/Fs: mission failed. Gunships are probably THE most dangerous anti-fighter capships in the game, yet AI TIE Fighters are expected to survive against this onslaught. Read the fiction, but skip the battle.

I love flying new craft, and the experimental TIEs are a lot of fun to fly. They have great power but are not overbalanced. Good idea, and well implemented.

It's the Turkey Shoot of Sharnall again...the worst was slaughtering a few waves of Pinooks in a T/D. Thanks for the heart attack there, I thought I wasn't going to survive that savage resistance. Plus I had little idea what the heck was going on or what I was looking for, though in the end it makes sense in a loose way. I like the 4th mission with all that scripting, nice touch.

Good missions, though it was a little predictable who the clone was. Also, I really really don't like it when my radar is full of red dots because all the teams are using the same IFF. At least paint the enemies yellow so I can track them on the radar.

Oh...my...God...if you only get to fly one battle for your entire TC career, pick this one!! I could write a three page review detailing every single time I gaped in amazement or outright laughed! Superb, excellent, outstanding, wonderful, and astounding mission design coupled with a wide variety of crafts and objectives. This battle takes some elements of cookie-cutter battles (recon comes to mind the most) and makes them actually a blast to fly. Not to mention the innovative and original events, like what happens when you find the SHU in the asteroid field on your recon flight! This battle also features some truly amazing visuals, including huge starports and stations, awe-inspiring fleet formations, and, in the last mission, the mother of all fighter wing hyperspace sequences (fly it and you'll know what I'm talking about). Furthermore, Striker does a fantastic job of combining a serious plot with some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a battle. The stuff that comes up in inspection and "Bot inside!" were just a few things that caused me to laugh out loud during the battle. The briefings were the best I've ever seen as well, providing excellent detail and being way flashier than anything coming out of Totally Games. Everything in this battle surpasses everything I've ever seen before in any TG campaign or EH battle. A toast to Striker, for making the finest battle ever created. SUREFRIED!!

Fantastic work!! Great storyline, and the missions made strategic sense, making me feel like I was part of a big operation and not just a couple random, pointless missions. The missions were also well designed, meaning you had to press an attack, fight enemy superiority fighters, and defend your own capships at the same time. A good mix of missions as well, and specific directives are always smiled upon. Job well done, Gidda!

Great battle, Hev! I absolutely LOVED the Freespace 2 influence on this battle. The last mission was truly original and heart-pounding, trying to destroy the targets in time. Well made battle with a good story and good briefings. Long live the GTVA!

We can grab a MoT by taking missions that are already made, changing craft to make them Imperial, and maybe tweaking a little for balance? The mission against the Rebel CRVs is ALREADY IN XvT! Destroy Rebel Convoy Athega. The only difference is you have to destroy all the CRVs in this battle. The missions are fine, but I cant give this anything other than a 0 when you take a mission created by Totally Games and do nothing but make the goals a little tougher.

Dogfighting. Endless dogfighting. Don't get me wrong, I love a good dogfight, but EIGHT practically identical missions gets to be a little much. Nice job trying to fit a storyline on the WoW and putting in "destroying the buoy" and "reporting to BSC" actions, but MP does not translate to SP well, as this battle shows.

For the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed this battle. It has a good, original storyline that hasn't been done before, and the mission design worked. Worked, yes, only worked. Having enemy flight groups attack specific friendly groups (X-wings only attack T/As, T-Ws attack T/Is, Zs attack GUNz) takes away from the chaos of a battle situation and makes it too rigid. All missions were set up in this way, making them all feel similar even with different goals. Giving your bombers bombs is also a good idea, as I spent well over an hour lasering capships and asteroid batteries, which is no fun in a T/A. Overall though, good battle.

Putting pilots in unshielded ships against Y-wings with flares is never a great idea. Also, splitting the goals up into manageable parts (ie. inspection on 1st and 2nd missions) would help pilots keep track of their progress and make sure they don't miss anything. I spent 45 minutes killing fighters on mission 2 only to find out I missed a freighter that jumped out at the beginning...would have been nice to know that before I wasted my time. On the other hand, I dont know if this was done before or after XWA #20, but the 4th mission is one hectic ride! There's so many it took me forever to kill enough for a decent score.

Lacking in storyline, but the missions themselves are well designed, and that always makes it more enjoyable, storyline or not.

Above average mission design is marred by a lack of storyline and horrendous briefings and debriefings. The design is nice, providing a good challenge by outnumbering the player, but making sure the enemies attack in waves. Forcing the player to focus on mission objectives while being harassed by enemy fighters is always a good feature, and was implemented well in this battle. Worth the download if you don't care about story too much.

This battle was proceeding nicely...the first two missions were interesting and fun. However, the third and fourth missions are practically identical, and amount to no more than fighter busting (fun for a while, but not for half hour). The final mission was way too long. The final kicker is when you get blasted by an Adv. Missile with about 95% of enemy fighters destroyed. That'd be fine if it didnt require 40 minutes to fly it again.

I loved it, great mission design. So you face the wrong way at the start on occasion, big deal. A great mix of escort, intercept, recon, and assault missions, and thats what makes this battle stand out. I hate playing battles where its the same mission over and over. I'd recommend this battle to anyone, very well made!

Forget about protecting the Luggage, the enemy just ignores it. Same with the targeted frigate, the bomber flight takes it out without any trouble. Its a great dogfight otherwise, just missing some depth because you do little else than blast fighters. Overall, enjoyable if you like a dogfight with some other stuff going on in the background. Also, some dodgy orders on Rouge squadron and the Y-wings. Rouge ignores the player and the Y-wings engage Rouge squadron. Oops.

It'd be okay if you flew something OTHER than a Praetor in the course of this mission, but the author decided to make the battle as monotonous as possible. I hate superships as it is. Not to mention, missions 1, 4, and 5 feel like the same mission with minor changes. The excellent plotline is the saving grace here, as it is imaginative and compelling. Good work on that. Unfortunately for this one, plotline alone doesn't make a battle.

Wow, after all the negative publicity, I was expecting the worst. What I found was a decently well constructed battle with an excellent, though short, storyline. This battle needed to be longer and more drawn out, it was over too quick. I liked how the primary goals could be achieved without too much difficulty, but there was still plenty of bonus kills to get if you wanted points. A good battle that could be longer, but whats there is good nonetheless.
