Not a bad battle as a whole, relatively simple in construction but still enjoyable to play. Missions 1-4 were good, fun, and to the point.
However, mission 5 was incredibly frustrating since the objectives don't match up with the briefing or the radio message.
Follow the spoilers/method of MAJ Solohan50, it was the only way I got through mission 5.
A decent and straight-forward mission to protect an escort shuttle from Rebel attack. Not particularly difficult, but enjoyable nonetheless. The AI don’t seem to want to attack the shuttle much, so you have a fair amount of time before any real damage is done to the shuttle.
Overall, a straight-forward defense mission, and it was neat to fly a TIE Fighter, which added slightly to the difficulty. The only complaint I have is the very long wait time between Rebel fighters being eliminated and the arrival of reinforcements required for the primary objectives.
A easy and quick mission where destroying the Rebels is your primary objective. There doesn’t seem to be much tension present, but it can be fun to fly a quick and easy mission every once in a while.
A relatively easy and straight forward defensive mission, protecting an Imperial platform from a Rebel task group. Not very difficult, but still enjoyable, and it was interesting to fly a TIE Bomber for a change.
A simple, straight-forward and quick identify (and destroy if you have time and feel up to it) mission. There isn’t much resistance save for some X-wings, and the only primary objectives are to identify the enemy cruisers and corvettes.
A very easy and simple mission here, with, like some other reviewers have noted, an abundance of friendlies. There doesn’t seem to be any real challenge since your wingmen and escorts will take care of most threats.
A quick and easy mission, but it was fun to blow up Rebel ships with Star Trek names. Not much plot other than to destroy the enemy’s capital ships, but can be fun nonetheless.
In my opinion, despite a 2014 rewrite I understand, the mission is still far too easy. All you need to do is disable or destroy a TIE/D and inspect a rebel cruiser. Good for RtF spam or FCHG since it’s so quick.
Another straight-forward free mission. It’s easy to complete the primary objectives (destroying some frigates and corvettes), but the secondary objectives can take a bit more time. Overall, an okay, destroy-every-rebel kind of mission.
A straight-forward mission with not much else except for destroying all of the Rebels. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but some of the waiting times between ships arriving became a bit frustrating.
A simple and easy mission to complete, but still fun to fly nonetheless. Like some of the other reviewers have stated, there doesn’t feel to be any real danger, but it’s always fun to blow up some rebels in the morning.
A simple and straight-forward mission. The briefing is not a serious one, but detail isn’t necessary to complete this mission, all you have to do is destroy the cruiser. Again, a simple mission, but an okay mission to fly nonetheless.
A fairly easy mission, almost too easy. There doesn’t seem to be any real tension or possibility that you won’t be able to complete the primary mission objectives. Even the secret objective is quite easy with the skill of the enemy pilots.
I was very much surprised by this battle––it was over almost before I knew what happened. Easy would definitely be an understatement for this one, all you have to do is ID some containers and that's it. No combat is required at all for any of the primary objectives and lasts only about 30 seconds.
Not a terrible mission per se, but certainly not a great one. It consists mostly of attacking wave after wave of TIE Fighters and Bombers while in a Defender. And you have a squadron of Defenders and Missile Boats to back you up, so minimal challenge in completing the objectives. It's very easy to destroy the enemy cruiser without ever engaging any fighters or taking any damage.
A very straightforward mission with a decent premise but very easy to kill enemies and not much time or effort needing to be exhausted. Pretty easy FCHG points for those who complete it or points in fleet-wide competitions.
Overall, not a great mission in large part due to the difficulty. There was never any challenge seen in the mission, and was very easy to complete. Minimal combat skill was needed to complete the mission and its secondary objectives. Easy FCHG points for those who want to complete it.
A pretty quick and simple mission to flight, though albeit I would say a bit too easy. There’s little to no difficulty in combat or any possibility that you could fail, but can be fun to fly nonetheless.
Very nicely done, I kept laughing the whole way through. The great sense of humor in both the briefings and mission execution was enjoyable to say the least. I definitely agree that it should be required flying if only for the tongue-in-cheek and twisted jokes!
Echoing what's already been said here, this mission is ridiculously easy. The only objective is destroying a few transports, so there's not much you have to (or can) do. This was the first time I had played the TIE Fighter game and even then was a piece of cake. Easy FCHG point, but wouldn't recommend it for enjoyment in the least.
