It's my first creation and it's not the greatest battle out there but it'll provide you with a few hours of challenge. ================ One good thing is that I don't use wave after wave of fighters. You will always be overwhelmed; but you won't fight 6 waves of a anything because I hate missions that just give you lots of enemies but little else ===================== In this battle, you will really have to use your brains. Good flying skills alone won't hack it. To complete the primary objectives is within the means of an average pilot. But you will have to work and think hard to get the secondary and bonus goals. Also be prepared for some interesting twists. ============== Lastly, just because my mission refers to Special K's, I'm not a druggie nor do I like Special K the cereal. :)

Attention CMDRs: If you need your pilots to learn Fire Discipline, this is the mission to assign to them. Simple yet instructive; this deserves a 5 and a "Certified by Gandalf" seal. :P

Good news for TIE-CDers; I just made and submitted a patch for TIECD to enable you to fly the SHU. Keep coming back and hope that SCO has approved it. Once it's approved, I'll edit this review. ======= As for using invincible crafts, this battle sure uses a lot of them. I'm in the school of "not using invincible crafts" as certain pilots know how to exploit them for mission high scores. Also, the use of TRN is very annoying: There should be a ban on having the player fly a TRN! This would've gotten a 5 if it weren't for the pervasive use of invincibles and TRN.

Now that I'm calmer about this, I will post a proper review just for this mission. Still gets a 2. As stated before, because it's just another rehash of "Yet another kill kill kill" mission. Giving the player a T/D in this mission won't make this mission any better, it will still rate a 2. ==== As for skill and patience training, well, at #3 in the HS table and as TT PROF, I know it when I see it in a mission, and I don't see it here. Patience training is NOT getting pilots to constantly weave just to dodge lasers because one lucky shot can fry your engine or flight control. Any knucklehead can just dodge, hell, I could've done the mission blindfolded if that's all I have to do! But it takes brains to make a great pilot which can only be tested in a mission with at least some design complexity for it to be a great mission.

Good concept but too much luck involved in this mission; anything from 1 to 3 FRTs that ram the ISD survive (if you get 3 survivors then you're Irish-lucky!); that can make a difference in a competition. So although this is a fun mission to play normally but I recommend against using this in a competition.

This is actually a classic example of a battle where pre-flight analysis is important, if not essential. That's why it gets a 3....

Pretty good FM; fun, quick, yet frustrating if you have to repeat it a few times. Just two things: 1. Sometimes the starfighters going after you keep running into the FAC. 2. If 4 T/Ds with adv. concussions go after your fragile T/A, you're dead.

It features us Infernites, so it's gotta be good! What more can you ask? :) But seriously, this is a good misison as there is no room for lack of situational awareness here.

Overall impression when I play each mission: "Holy cow, Batman!". All the missions were extremely well done, and the amount of tactical planning I had to do is staggering in the more complicated missions. Just one major sore point though, which is mission 2. Please consider some of us still playing on TIE Disk; and instead of using containers as platforms, why not just make it a regular platform? That mission crashed my comp. several times. It majorly pissed me off when it crashed after I'm more than halfway finished. And I know it's this mission because TIE behaved well in other missions.

Pretty good as experimental battle/missions go. But when you push the TIE engine to the edge, you'll run into a bug or "undocumented feature" or two. :) It also has the most creative use of setting mission time limit that I've seen, heck, I haven't seen one like it actually.

Interesting battle that requires me to exercise my tactical muscles. :) Funny debriefing after the last mission, heh heh.

What is there to say but: Gunboats galore! :) A chance for yourself to show off your skill in this versatile (but large) craft.

No use flogging a dead horse, but this must have been some kind of sadomasochistic joke with 7 waves of X-wing in one of those missions. Otherwise, every mission is straightforward, and after a while they all look alike.

I gave it a 5 because every mission in it requires extensive pre-flight analysis from my part; it requires a keen tactical mind plus great piloting skills since you fly GUNs a lot. Bravo!

It's fun, but please don't design a mission where a big slow capship docks with something! It tests the patience of the best of us even at 4x!

Minefield + TIE Fighter = @#*&^#$!! (that was me screaming at the mines after repeating the mission for the 30th time :)) Reminds me of the nightmare-ish original TIE B5M1....

Mission 1 is probably the most difficult part, it's the first time I have to turn on unlimited ammo. :) Otherwise, great job, Pellaeon!

Ha ha ha. In mission 2, I wish I could destroy Malfoy/Crabbe/Goyle instead of just disabling them!
