Until the TIE Corps section of the EH Database is complete, name changes for any pilot that isn't a Cadet must be approved by the Executive Officer. Send name change requests to the Executive Officer (absurefire@aol.com) and CC the Flight Officer (spellfire@btinternet.com) along with a detailed explanation as to why you want to change your name.
A notice to all XWA M-players out there. XWA WoWs started today, so start flying!
With the appointment of a new Commodore of the ISD Relentless, it is now necessary for an equally-new Commanding Officer of Wing IX to be found. Effective immediately, the post is open to any and all interest individuals in the TIE Corps at the rank of Commander or higher, and with previous experience as a squadron leader. However, this will be no normal application procedure. Because the "Fighting Ninth" is an exceptional wing, recently winning the titles of TIE Corps Commander's Own and TIE Corps Battlegroups Flagship within the space of a month, it deserves an exceptional commander.
Thus, this appointment will not be decided purely or even largely on past experience, but ability. All candidates for the position of Wing IX Commander should write a short essay, with a minimum of 750 words, on the topic of "the nature of power within the TIE Corps" with particular reference to the post of Wing Commander. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of where an officer's authority derives from, the limit to this, interrelational requirements with other positions with regards to WC, and how the efficient legitimacy of a command is established and maintained.
If it sounds confusing, you probably shouldn't think about applying. There is no right or wrong answer, all that I want to hear are your own theories of basically where a Wing Commander's power lies, how they maintain it, and how they should exercise and use it. The more intelligently and eloquently a discussion on the subject you can write, the better your chances.
All applications should be e-mailed to val.ricaud@btinternet.com and CC:ed to jarak@stny.rr.com. You may also send any questions concerning the application procedure and what is expected to the former of these addresses, or catch up with me on IRC as Ricaud in channels #Emperor's_Hammer, #TIECorps, or #ISD_Relentless. However, do please send formal applications in soon!
The new BGCOM Intimidator for this month is LCM Michael of the ISD Greywolf!
Anything we receive after that will be going into Issue #2.

Accepting the squadron's invitation, COL Sasquatch, the former WC/Wing III, has returned from his short stay in the Reserves and will now wear the red uniform of Omega.
Hi!You have drawn the short straw! You know about that, I'm sure!
Would you be kind enough to do me a small favour?
I've had so many lovely es of welcome from folk on the Emperor's Hammer and I just don't have the time at present to write to each one personally.
Would you be so kind as to pass on my thanks and greetings to all? Perhaps you have a notice board and could pin this up.
I'd be very grateful.
My thanks and Yours Aye - as they said in Scotland, the country of my birth,
Michael.
(Admiral Ozzel)
They have several star guests, including Warwick Davis, Jeremy Bullock, Gary Kurtz, Alan Harris, Phil Brown, Eric Walker, Kenneth Colley and a couple of others, and offer other activities. Their English is rather bad though, so some of what they wrote didn't make sense to me... If you're interested, I suggest you go to their site and contact them via email or phone, and ask them WHERE and WHEN this exactly is, cause MY Dutch is a little 'rusty'. If you get further information on date and location, please post it here, too, if it's not too far away, I'd like to come!
Will you be in England on Friday 27th July through to Sunday 29th? If you are, you are invited to the Emperor's Hammer Summer Bash/BBQ in Brighton. Brighton is in the South-East corner of England along the southcoast. It's a fairly big city, with an exciting nightlife and a load of shops for all your shopping needs. I'm co-organising the whole event with Colonel Mairin and Fleet Admiral Priyum Patel. If you are American/Canadian/European, and would like to come and join in the fun, we suggest you go and have a look at http://www.buzzaway.com, http://www.ryanair.com and http://www.easyjet.com for really cheap flights inbound to the UK. We will be booking the accomodation in Brighton very soon, so if possible, please mail guyquake@btinternet.com and mairin@isdchallenge.org if you can come.
Would you like to know more? Email Major Marcin Szydlowski or catch him on irc: MAJ_Mike.
However, if you did submit something in March and it didn't appear in the newsletter, I, for some reason or another, did not receive it. No submissions were denied or rejected this month and the authors of rejected submissions would've been contacted. If this was the case, please let me know and resubmit your NL submission to ehnewsletter@aol.com so it can be included in NL #74.
(And if LucasFilm finds out these people are selling T-Shirts with their logos on them, they'll probably shut this group down too - SA Kawolski)
- All the nominations are in and the voting booth is up! Go Vote for your favorite EH members to determine who the next Mr and Miss EH Will be!
We need you! We want articles, emails, funny IRC logs, everything! This is a magazine for the EH, so send us in whatever you're interested in.
Being the cheap people we are, we'll take anything! Send submissions to werdna_elbee@emperorshammer.ca and somnia_vacua@yahoo.com.
1. New projects must involved the Emperor's Hammer or once of it's respective subgroups.
2. Any and all suggestions must be original. No cheap knock-offs of other projects or programs.
3. Make them cool! The EH already has a great foundation for doing what it set out to do (being the largest Star Wars organization in the world and all), so let's all contribute to make it an even more fun group to be a part of!
As soon as I get a SpecOps webpage up and running, there will be a submission form for sending in such ideas and suggestions. For now, just send them to me at belair2267@email.com. Hope to hear from you soon!

RA Troutrooper has informed me that the battles we posted yesterday were the un-corrected versions which he sent by mistake. All mirrors have been updated with the corrected version now.
Unreal Tournament: Emperor's Hammer is also closing down if Prefect Ares cannot find more helpers, especially in the modeling and graphics department.
Either via stupidity or just trying to rort the system, a number of competitions are being submitted that are unacceptable. These competitions are usually one squadron vs another where the highest scoring person from each squadron gets a IS-BW. These competitions will be denied. Similarly, any competitions where the CMDR of the winning squadron gets an award will be denied. I hope that clears things up.
Now the ASF WoW comp and results.
1st Place | LCM Michael | ISD Grey Wolf | 146 pts | IS-GW |
2nd Place | LC Brucmack | ISD Grey Wolf | 82 pts | IS-SW |
3rd Place | CM Schitzo | ISD Vanguard | 42 pts | IS-BW |
The ISD Greywolf retains the ASF Flagship Title. 2nd place goes to the ISD Vanguard and third to the ISD Intrepid.
The ISD Grey Wolf Command Staff defeated the Vanguard and Intrepid CSers handily, allowing the GW CSers to rename the mottos and nicks for the next month of the two losing ISD's.
According to the XWA Upgrade site, the new version simply has an additional wireframe for the 8km and 17.6km versions of the Super Star Destroyer.

I have officially stepped down as Lord Ambassador of the Advanced Guard. However, I have been appointed Command Attaché to Executive Officer, Sector Admiral Kawolski. I will continue to work hard on EH:Vanguard and the new Lord Ambassador will be announced shortly.

15 squadrons from around the fleet competed for the title of best XWA Squadron and the nice medals that go on offer for the event. Ranger Squadron pulled a stunning victory pulling an early lead then keeping ahead of the pack with the larger squadrons just behind. Through high scores and sheer dedication the squadron have earned the title for the second time.
Can your squadron beat them? Compete next time.
The Training Manual has been updated with the removal of references to the Naval Corps.
It takes place on Tattooine at the beginning of the Empire Strikes Back when a couple of young curious Jawas stumble upon one of the Empire's Imperial Probe Droids. Combined with nicely done CGI, costumes, filmwork, and storyline (though I feel like I'm watching an "Ewoks" movie sometimes), this film is well worth the 64 MB download it requires!
Make sure you have the latest version of QuickTime or the movie may look a little messed-up.

Sierra On-Line and Gearbox Software have announced that the newest episode of the Half-Life action game franchise, Blue Shift, will be released in June.
Blue Shift is an expansion that will allow you to explore the restricted Black Mesa Research Facility. In the single player game, you play the role of the security guard that allied with Gordon Freeman in the original title, struggling to keep yourself and the research facility's staff alive as you face off against numerous hostile threats.
Half Life: Blue Shift includes the award winning Half-Life: Opposing Force, the Half-Life HD pack, and a 32-player multiplayer option. The HD pack upgrades all weapons and characters in all Half-Life games to a new high definition standard.
