Pre-Operation Fiction Required!

Ok, for the creative ones amongst you, I need a short piece of background fiction required to set the tone for a one-off Operation in the planning. This is what the piece needs to cover:

- Setting: Planet - can be major or minor, must be an EH recognised planet, such as Aurora Prime. Create a minor town on the planet as the actual setting
- Scenario: A new "War Tax" has been imposed. Locals are annoyed to the point of public demonstrations which so far have all remained non-violent and passive. However, someone has a hidden agenda. Someone wants things to turn violent in a bid to conduct an uprising against the Imperial "yoke-masters". Does this demagogue have something against the tax, or something more sinister in mind?
End point: Uprising is in full swing, the Imperial response is about to arrive...

It doesn't need to be very long, certainly under 1000 words. Like I've said above, what I'm looking for is something to set the tone for the subsequent HF Operation to deal with this situation. Submissions can either be posted on the HF forum, or sent to me directly (spellfire[at]btinternet.com).

As far as I have recieved ID-Lines, the old profile pages or screenshots of them, I have updated all the informations to the database.
Missing join-dates so far brought a loss of Order of the Vanguard Medals...hope noone dies of it.

A row of people still do not have their medals filled in, please see to submitting the proper informations for me.
Concerning Shadow Academy Courses, you will have to contact the Headmaster respectively. Also, Character Historic Background are so far not implemented and will have to wait...once they come (if they do at all), you should be able to re-submit them yourself...and perform needed overworking in the process :P

After a month of solid participation, I have closed the Path to Resurrection run-on, on the forums, and awarded the following medals:

Congratulations to these Troopers. The Run-On saw 19 HF participants and over 60 individual posts which I think constitutes a successful first run-on for the relaunched Hammer's Fist. It also serves as a useful primer and tester for future run-ons. As I mentioned on the forums, several themes came out of it which I intend to use for future Operations. Futhermore, I think there is a definite need for a Run-On specific low-level award for those Troopers who contribute, but perhaps not enough to earn themselves a separate Merit award.If you have any ideas or thoughts on this matter, please forward them on to me.

The PHP mail function has long been a pain in the @$$ to work with. Right now, most automated emails, do NOT work - I'm working on fixing them at the moment. As usual, the problem is - there's nothing which seems to be wrong with any of the code, mails just won't send.

The Field Manual has been updated. More specifically, the Awards page now shows the Merit Awards in use by the Hammer's Fist. Additionally, a page detailing the use of ID Lines has been added. Everyone should adhere to the directions contained within this page - I'm getting too many emails without names attached.

Alright, the first row of medals have been entered into the Database as I recieved them.
Two clarifications:

  • Commendations of Loyalty and Order of the Vanguard. The Commendations of Loyalty are not yet implemented into the system, but it is worked on. OVs are set by the system directly. Where I do not get/have an accurate join-date (profile, welcome letter, ...) I cannot set your join date, and thus you will have to live without your OVs. Sad, but true.

  • Proof/Supplementing wrong numbers on your medals.
    At the moment, I go with proof where I have it, but consider certain persons (especially those on higher posts in the command line) as "trustworthy" (to a degree mind you).
    I will see about getting my hands on more back-up datas, and where I find that someone submitted falsified informations, that person will have to deal with the consequences, and those will not be nice!

Hey All,
I am just posting to say that my laptop has decided that it would like to take a break from the world, from what I can tell the video card and motherboard have packed it in.

I am sending it away to be checked out but I am not sure how long it is going to take or if I am going to be able to get it fixed anytime time soon or at all.

Until I return to full duties, I appoint Astix to act in my stead. I will be around but performing limited duties to my limited access to a computer.

No ranks, positions, etc. will be lost, though medals and SA courses will have to be added to your profiles over time. Rather than having you bombard us with emails, Death and I will just be checking the Initiates Roster several times a day. This temporary website, which uses a layout by Exar Kit and the DIR code base (written by Dark Angel and me) that has been modified for the DB (by me).

It's not perfect!

Right now, there are a few things to take note of:
(1) On Joining, you will receive a greeting message - if you are a NEW member, take note of this! You probably won't get the email, as the SMTP server is still giving me some issues with that particular mail.

(2)The MAA cannot add your medals to your profiles. I will add this function tomorrow (that is, Friday th 10th - probably in the evening - EST!). Thank you for your patience.

1. The CSMA is up and running again at full speed. I've finished my basic audit of the courses and found which ones are missing notes/tests. I am in the process of going through them one by one and fixing them as I go.

2. New Graduates of the SSBTC will be a Private unless they complete at 100% which will give them a merit promotion to PFC.

3. I'll be condensing the course categories back into something more manageable as well as maybe sticking up a couple of courses that were completed on pdf but not onto the site.

4. Orion will be purged of all recruits who have been there since before Ronin retired as Fleet Commander.... :)
