There we go folks! 30 turns, 7000 Legions, great deal of Single Player missions completed and what I hope includes a fair bit of fun!
Imperial Storm 5 marks the closure of the Ishtari story-arc and fictionally has seen the TIE Corps take on the Ishtari in their own backyard, the Assurian Halo.
Fleet Admiral Laan who played our Ishtari Overlord was successful in slowing the TIE Corps advance to the point that we were unable to complete the capture of their homeworld in the allotted 30 days. So special thanks to Laan for fighting so well! I’m sure you’ll let all him know on discord!
That said, we have succeeded in destroying over 90% of their fleet qualifying all participating pilots for 10 Operations Readiness Awards. In light of what has been a hard-fought battle the Grand Admiral and TIE Corps Commander have both authorized the award of the Assurian Halo Campaign Badge to all participating pilots.
Imperial Storm 5 was also our first attempt, in recent times at least, of using an NPC enemy instead of the traditional Battlegroup vs Battlegroup competition that Imperial Storm has recently been. This presented some unique challenges with the rules and we’ve identified a number of areas where this could be improved if we repeat the TIE Corps vs NPC philosophy for Imperial Storm 6 in 2024.
Special thanks goes to all four team captains, Laan, Stryker, JetMech and Genie for making this campaign work.
I’ve had a great deal of feedback from members so far, and we’ll be making this more formal as we roll into April – striking whilst the iron is hot so to speak – so be on the lookout for a google survey as well as an invite to drop me any documents/excels that have been crafted so I can put them somewhere central.
I hope you have enjoyed Imperial Storm 5 and the battles that it entailed!
