Following the ISDII Relentless being returned to active duty as part of Battlegroup II, Hammer Squadron is the first of its squadrons to be reactivated. Led by CM Matthew Steel with LCM Jinso Blackfoot serving as SQXO and LT Kad Rakku as its FL, Hammer Squadron gets an opportunity to start with a clean slate and write a new story. Good luck in your new roles!
Hammer Squadron's first three pilots all came from Sigma Squadron. One of Sigma's pilots has transferred to Kappa and the other two have departed to the Reserves, leading to the closure of Sigma Squadron for now. I'm sure we'll see Sigma back on active duty again at some point down the line.
The Training Office is proud to announce the release of three (3) new courses, all written by COL Aardvark. These new courses introduces students to the very nature of the Force, delving into the differences between the Light and Dark. For his efforts, Aardvark has been awarded the Medal of Scholarship.
The Training Office is proud to announce the activation of the next level of qualification in the Imperial University's "degree" system, the Graduate qualification. Thus, the Graduate of Starfighter Operations is the latest qualification available to be earned!
Unlike the Certification level of qualification, the Graduate-level qualifications will require both a set of courses to be complete as well as thesis, a written essay of sorts that pulls together all of the knowledge gained through the associated courses. For the qualification, members will be asked in the Graduate of Starfighter Operations Capstone Thesis course to explore the characteristics of starfighters and their specific roles and tactics in combat.
We hope that this new aspect of the IU will be enjoyed by the membership and help to contribute to the discussions of Star Wars lore currently had.

In Imperial Storm 5, we saw how larger battlegroups were able to be leveraged to bring the Ishtari to their knees. Assuming they have knees, I'm not quite sure about that. To pave the way for future expansion of the TIE Corps and to clarify how that expansion will proceed, we've added new ships to the existing three battlegroups. Battlegroup IV led by the ISDII Grey Wolf has been merged into Battlegroup I, Battlegroup VI led by the ISDII Relentless has been merged into Battlegroup II, and Battlegroup XIV led by the MC-90 Renegade has been merged into Battlegroup III.
The Fleet Order of Battle shows these as being Battlegroup I(b), II(b), and III(b), but that's the result of the OOB not having been coded to do what we're wanting to do. The TIE Corps Roster correctly shows just Battlegroups I, II, and III.
With new ships come new wings of fighters. Battlegroup I now has Wings I and XIII, Battlegroup II has Wings II and IX, and Battlegroup III has Wings X and XXII. Wings IX and XIII will retain their original squadron names and haven't had any pilots transferred to them yet. Wing XXII has had Eagle, Firebird, and Raven Squadrons transferred to it and its three open squadrons are now Condor, Crane, and Owl to round out the theme. Squadrons from Wings I and II may move to another wing in their battlegroup, but would be required to take on a squadron name from their new wing.
For now, Squadron Commanders will continue to report directly to their Battlegroup Commander. As we gain more pilots, we'll take a look at restaffing Wing Commander positions. As much as we appreciate the efforts of LC Task, GN Frown, and LC Elara, I'm sure we'll come to a point where BGCOMs and CMDRs ask for additional support.
With that, we've created a lot of opportunities to open and staff more squadrons. While not all of a pilot's recruits might end up in their squadron or even on their ship, the battlegroup system is intended to reflect a "three team" program that will continue in events like TIE Corps in Battle, Imperial Storm, and Raise the Flag. As always, we'll keep an eye on how things are playing out and make adjustments as needed.

Robert Hogan had spent a mere 16 days as Training Officer Assistant before being offered the position of the Command Attache to the Training Officer, easily showcasing his dedication and passion for academia. Soon after becoming the CA, he began to work on developing and expanding the scope of the Certifications program for the Imperial University, creating spreadsheets of data for the TO, and developing Markdown conversion files for all of our old HTML-based courses. It is no secret that Robert Hogan has a passion for the Emperor's Hammer, stretching himself between the Training Office and the Internet Office, offering his expertise as a Jack of All Trades to all who would benefit, earning him a staggering two (2) Gold Stars of the Empire within a single year. Hogan has been a mentor and guiding hand to the new members of the Command Staff, offering advice, assistance, and friendship. Robert Hogan has become a trusted advisor and has more than earned his place as a member of the Command Staff, and there is no one else I would trust to carry on in my stead and to act with my authority.

Captain Jaxx Nassin is a constant and steady presence both in squad chat and fleet wide. He is always willing to help or offer a different perspective, a trait which I have personally benefited from in his time as my Squadron Executive Officer. Captain Nassin is a great motivator, always there to encourage the squadron to participate and be active, which is one of the most important roles for flight leads within the squadron itself. He does more than just encourage though; he's acquitted himself well in his position and lead from the front. Captain Nassin has himself been consistently active, earning three Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, a Palpatine Crescent, and two Impetial Security Medals for his service. During the last two major fleetwide exercises, Captain Nassin was always at the front of Firebird's contributions, in addition to his time representing Firebird and the TIE Corps in the 3PO league, and stepping up to take over the Challenge With Words fleet competition following the retirement of Admiral Marenta so that it would not languish. Therefore it is my great privilege to promote Captain Jaxx Nassin to the rank of Major!

To set up our long-term expansion plans, Battlegroups I, II, and III will each absorb another battlegroup from the Order of Battle.
Battlegroups I and II will each pick one battlegroup between IV, V, and VI to add to its fleet. The FC will determine what happens to the remaining battlegroup.
The ISDII Challenge has been the gracious host of the growing Infiltrator Wing and it’s finally time to give the IW its own ship (for real, this time). BG3 will pick a battlegroup from the Order of Battle that’s led by an MC-80b or MC-90 to reactivate and add to its fleet. The IW squadrons will then be moved to the new cruiser and Wing X will be able to build up its original squadrons.
From here, I’m awaiting word back from the BGCOMs about their selections. They’ll probably be asking for opinions, so if you have a preference please make sure to let them know.
We have news on three upcoming Star Wars films in the works, all announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023!
Directed by Obaid-Chinoy, the film will be set 15 years after the events of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Daisy Ridley will be reprising her role as Rey Skywalker, who will focus on rebuilding the Jedi Order from the ground up. The film is aimed to be released in 2025.
The Second film will focus on the events between Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Episode VII: The Force Awakens and will be directed by Dave Filoni. The film will focus on the war between Imperial Remnants and New Republic which will tie together the events from Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, and The Book of Boba Fett. to close out the story.
The Third film will be directed by James Mangold and will tell the tale of the first ever Jedi discovering the force for the first time, set 25,000 years prior to the events of Original Trilogy.

It is not an exaggeration to say that LC Robert Hogan is one of TC's most active multi player pilots of recent times. In the past 13 months LC Robert Hogan raked up six Bronze Stars and six Silver Stars of the Empire - and that is only because Gold Stars can no longer be earned in the monthly evaluation. There were months in which they scored enough points for more than two, once even nearly six Silver Stars.
If all of this was not enough, they have been very active as TOA, revamping entire IU courses and creating new ones. They worked on wiki pages, created logos, graphics, renderings, uniform 3D objects, and textures. On top of that they fulfilled their role as FL and SQXO by helping out other pilots, substituting for the CMDR and they even went as far as looking out for our entertainment by adding songs to the Warrior playlist.
They have gone above and beyond for the Corps. It is an absolute pleasure to recommend LC Robert Hogan for promotion to Colonel!

With AD Phoenix Berkana becoming our first Warfare Officer, a primary position on the TCCS, that opened BG1COM to be taken up by another pilot.
As the Commander of Lambda Squadron, GN Genie established a history of strong competition performance for both the squadron and himself. He's been a consistent contributor to the Corps in a variety of ways, leading to him being recognized with the Grand Order of the Emperor early in his career. He's been a strong advocate for his pilots, which is what earned him the previous BGCOM's recommendation for the role that Genie has now been appointed to. Congratulations to RA Genie, the new Commander of Battlegroup I!
RA Genie's assignment as BG1COM is live, as is a policy change that affects his assignment as the Warden of the Imperial Archives. Without having had the ability to upload fiction and graphics submissions to profiles, the WARD hadn't been able to carry out one of main duties of that role. With a wider interest from the Corps for running art competitions and related activities, the WARD also hasn't needed to take point on those. For now, I'm suspending the WARD role like we did with SIMS and I'll revisit it when the situation in the database changes.
The Training Office is proud to announce a new course for the Imperial University, Systems: Setii. This new course encourages members to use our own Encyclopedia Imperia to learn more of the systems we have claimed for the Emperor's Hammer.
When creating the course for this system, we realized that three of the four planets in the system already had active courses. To make things easier for everyone involved, if a pilot has taken and passed the Basic Systems courses for Hades, Ghenna, AND Osiris, the Training Office would be happy to award the Systems: Setii course to the pilot upon request based on the average score of the other three exams. The Basic Systems courses will become inactive and replaced by the Systems: Setii course moving forward.
We hope to have the rest of the Alpha Sector ready in time for Squad ReMob this year, along with a new certification to go with it.
Ace of the TIE Corps is a set of competitions that recognizes pilots for placing in the top ten on the SP, PvP, and PvE killboards. Below are the results for March.

Today, I'm announcing the creation of a new TIE Corps Command Staff position: Warfare Officer (WO). This role will take over the competition-approval duties currently managed by the TCCOM as well as performing new double-checks concerning competitions and becoming the showrunner for some competitions currently being managed by other positions. This includes Imperial Storm, leading to the suspension of the SIMS secondary position.
Regarding the SIMS, AD Phoenix Berkana has done a great job of managing Imperial Storm for us over the last few years. There's a lot of effort that has gone into hammering out the rules of that event and then actually running it. It's gotten better each year, a reflection of the continuous improvement that we strive for.
Don't feel too bad for Phoenix, though, because he's been selected to be the first Warfare Officer! He's looking forward to expanding the amount of good he can do for the Corps both in this new role and as a member of the TCCS. As the current Commander of Battlegroup I without an immediate replacement, there'll be a transition period where he'll be wearing both hats. This will be temporary, as the selection process for the next BG1COM is already in motion.
The following has been added to the Pilot Manual about this new position:
Position Description: The Warfare Officer is primarily responsible for managing competitions in the TIE Corps, not including the events being run by the Combat Operations Officer.
Rank: Rear Admiral upon appointment, may be promoted up to Fleet Admiral
Duties:
- Running Corps-wide competitions like Imperial Storm, TIE Corps in Battle, Ace of the TIE Corps, Squadron (Re)Mobilization, and Raise the Flag
- Managing the competition approval queue in the database
- Working with competition runners to schedule and refine their events
- Ensuring that competitions are announced properly and have their results published
- Confirming that awards for competitions are presented
- Writing reports as needed
Ship Assignment: The WO’s permanent ship assignment is to the flagship of the battlegroup that last won the Raise the Flag competition
Contact Requirements: High. The WO’s duties involve a significant amount of interaction with other TIE Corps officers.
