Not a very well put together battle. Flight groups with random names, enemy squadrons all being the same color, not balanced on hard (expecting gunboats to disable a-wings).

The first mission was fairly short and the rest were longer. A big part of it was that at the end you had to wait for Lord Vader. A bit weird to see his name floating around in our custom missions, but then again we have seen how canon can change in the SW universe. Played half of this with my eyes closed. Recommend you try it out.

Not sure why it is getting such high marks. I'll try it again in the future but for now, the storyline is ok, the briefing is solid, but the design and execution of the battle is horrible. It... ended me. Also a funny moment, as I was about to finish the last mission I target Harkov's ISD by mistake so he launches two Adv Missiles at me... oh boy. Dont want to refly it. I somehow manage to destroy them both and thought to myself let's target something 'safe' like that big rock over there. Big mistake another adv conc came hurling my way... (this is not though why it got low marks, I actually like the bases and cap ships to have teeth)

Gunboats are a personal preference of mine, so I love most missions involving them. In this battle, the plotline is somehow not very original, yet not so bad. It involves both Darth Vader and Admiral Harkov, and Zaarin!. Plots involving capital characters are something to be avoided in my humble opinion, since they take a colossal pressure onto something which is way more mundane, such as ordinary patrols performed by ordinary pilots. However, this battle is well balanced, allowing the player to choose different approaches into combat. Capture operations are perfectly crafted and they are solid fun to fly. Besides my personal rant for the lack of originality, this battle deserves to be flown.

Well, I hate Gunboat missions where you have to disable small craft, because you really must fly with the GUN flight group to get the job done. Still, this battle provided some very entertaining situations and the way everything worked out seemed ok.

CRVs just flying through the Colossus during Mission 2
Lot of little typos like "Watchfull" in the M3 briefing

Mission 2: FRG Medical Corps does not defend itself when docking with the ISD Colossus. All Rebel starfighters use the same FG name and overlapping numbers.
Rebel CRVs 'Boarding units' that appear on Hard difficulty protect the ISD Colossus instead of boarding to destroy it.
Mission 3: Numbering of several ships is odd. Storm is mispelled as Strom in FG names. Objectives to capture the convoy and Harkov's shuttle are duplicated. GUN Thunder do not reliably disable Harkov's shuttle, necessitating the player does so alone.
Mission 4: Objective to eliminate or force withdrawal of all enemy starfighters shows as complete when only 80% have been destroyed or fled. EH starfighters seem to ignore the asteroid laser batteries and R&D FC. Allowing Harkov's VSD to flee before it launches all its fighters causes the mission to be a failure - perhaps destroying it should be a primary goal.
