Great battle! Fun introduction to the Praetorian series with some very involved missions. Docked a point because a few of the waypoint instructions caused ships to engage in tactile interactions. Tip for M5, focus on the platform else your VSD will not survive.

I can appreciate these missions for the solid design, although not perfect, I believe they're in line with what should be considered the acceptable standards that other missions often fall short of. The story was slightly above average. Though in the grander scheme of the overall Praetorian Elite battles, it excels with it fast pacing and well timed delivery of in-game communication messages that continue to expand the narrative rather than relying solely on briefings and objectives.

A interesting battle here, the first and last missions are by far the best in the battle whilst the others are effectively filler for the plotline. Not brilliant but certainly not one of the worst battles out there.

The missions were rather boring. Couldn't find anything really special about these. I'm not a fan of the spacecraft we have to fly and the preset loadouts are annoying. Go for the escort shuttles in the third (?) mission first or they'll get away.

Not terrible, it has at least a little variety to the missions. I liked the ultimate and penultimate missions - who doesn't wonder what happens to all that junk you inspect? You get to go back and blow it up!

I didn't have the issues of ships colliding that others had, but I felt this set of battles was ho hum. There are stronger and there are weaker battles in the prae series. At least we got to fly in the TIE Prae in this one.

I played on Easy. Much like the Preatorian battles themselves, this review will be similar to the others I've posted. These missions are pretty easy and quick. They're a solid way to get points. In addition, they're decent enough to fly.

This one was better than the first three in the series. There are still some design flaws, like putting all the containers in front of the platform, thereby the platform actually destroying quite a few of them itself. That's one sample. He is trying, he seems to know how to use positioning well. The map creator is clearly putting a number of design features to good use, but he stumbles along the way. I believe people flying this one though will enjoy it. For that reason, it gets a 4.

The weakest of the 'Praetorian Squadron' saga so far, with a fairly light story on top of a few cookie-cutter and buggy missions. Many craft crash into each other throughout the mission; capital ships clip through each other; and I had at least two crashes to desktop. The fourth mission has you do nothing but inspect a dozen containers. Finish it for completion, but I can't agree with the other reviews here.

Another excellent installment in the Praetorian sagas. The battle can be played fast and furious in the God Fighter, or you can take your time and try to achieve a decent score, and take my word, it can be quite a challenge, but never too hard since you have become a god inside your red lined upholstery cockpit. All missions are well balanced and can be approached from a variety of tactics. My advice is pack heavy hitters for some serious bombing and then enjoy slaughtering all enemies while you are death incarnate. Fun and worth the time and effort (effortless).

Great battle. It has some very good dogfighting situations and the inspection mission is unique in its kind. This battle is for those who want a challenge and want to try to get the best score possible, not for those who just want more FCHG points.

Mission 1: All Imperial starfighters, the platform and all corvettes & the frigate can be issued orders. Rebel ships will attack the cruiser they launched from.
Mission 2: VSD aggressor does not fire on the strike cruiser vigilant even when it is fired upon. T/A Praetorian patrol route is along the strike cruisers flight plan, causing them to collide with it.
Mission 3: corvette guardian 1 collides with ISD Intrepid. Enemy fighter AI has issues shooting at all.
Mission 4: Mission description typo: revoew -> review. If you attack any container the platform immediately obliterates all of them.
Mission 5: Platform once again attacks all containers if you shoot at one. It kills them all except for one behind an asteroid, which it will spend the rest of the mission trying to kill.

Mission 3: ISD Intrepid collides with INT Zeus. INT Zeus dies 100% of the time, Intrepid dies sometimes but sometimes it does not.

VSD Aggressor collides with the platform in mission 5, resulting in mutually assured destruction.

Mission 1: Bonus objective refers to destroying a CRS, but the enemy starship in-mission is a CRL. T/Pr Praetorian has no targets, MIS Cyclone only has a circle waypoints order (the attack order is in slot 4 and thus ignored by the AI). If flying the MIS, the mission does not provide missiles in the primary launcher - this renders the secondary missiles useless due to a well-known bug in XvT. PLT/6 Daedalus has a starfighter order.
Mission 2: INT Shire II and STRKC Vigilant ignore each other.
Mission 3: X-W Red and X-W Blue have an attack order in slot 4 that should be in slot 2 (they currently leave the battle once convoy FRTs are destroyed). EH starships have no waypoints, making their attack orders redundant.
Mission 5: GUN Zlatan does not attack the enemy platform. VSD Aggressor has an attack order targeting the platform, but no waypoints.

Mission list shows this as Praetorian Elite V: Tour of Duty in the mission selection screen. Not major, but seeing as Prae Elite V is the next battle and also has 5 missions, it was a little confusing at first to make sure that it was the correct battle.
2008-04-05
In the last mission, the hostile PLT starts killing its on containers. Also, despite carrying heavy rockets, GUN Zlatan never bothers attacking the PLT, which means that you have to take it out with lasers if you selected to fly the Praetor.
