Quick successive strike missions that can be finished fast for RTF points. Lets be honest, that's really the only reason I'm flying this. The missions probably offer more if you go for anything else aside from the primary objectives, but I only focused on those so that I could move onto the next. No bugs, no hidden objectives that mess you up. Easy and smooth. Thank you.
I am torn, because the craftmanship of this battle is excellent. It even tailored the briefing to the different difficulties. But once you get behind the flight stick it devolves into an ordinary battle.
This battle is very original and crafted to excellence. Player will find 3 types of missions according to the difficulty level, giving a wide variety of roles and engagements. This required massive work and thorough execution and a lot of time and dedication. Also player gets to choose some interesting choice of starfighters, which adds more flexibility and taste to the missions. The only flaw I found was on last mission on hard. Although giving the possibility of flying the best fighter, the T/D, your bombing-capable friendly fighters get wiped out pretty early, and you will have to endure sinking a CRS, a CRL, a STRKC and a DREAD, only on lasers, and is only possible on the Space Cadillac T/D. This was a bit tiresome and tedious. If not, it would have been a golden classic in my book.
I played on Easy. These missions weren't bad. They do tend to devolve into 'shoot a bunch of dumb enemies' on Easy but I enjoyed playing them. There's a lot of enemies but there's capital ships to keep things interesting as well. All in all, not bad.
This is a pretty well put together battle campaign. There is loads of replay value, with different difficulties giving you different mission scenarios. I thought that was a nice touch. These missions would be great for some squadron coop and training runs. I was left very impressed. No bugs found.
Wow! That's something new to me ... different missions for each difficulty level. Quite original, Ender, quite original. Oh, did I mention that the missions were also FUN? :D
This is a truly unique battle, each mission is different based on difficulty level settings! (Its not easy to create something unique these days my props to the creator!).
Great Battle >:P But where was I?

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (SP CoOpt) Battle Title: ASF: 341 Missions: 4 (or 12) Medal: Trident of Combat Author: SCO-TCT-TCS-PROF/FA Ender mBind/CS-10/SSSD Sovereign (mindb_ender@hotmail.com) Game Platform: X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (+EHSP) Release Date: 28/jun/2004 Ships: All flyable craft Difficulty: Easy. THESE LEVELS ARE NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. ELEMENTS TM & (c) LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. Required patches ---------------- * EH Ship Patch for XvT Installation instructions -------------------------- 1] Make sure you have the EH Ship Patch for XvT installed 2] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle 3] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 4] Press the X-wing vs TIE Fighter button on the EHBL to start the game 5] Create a new pilot and fly the Imperial training missions Installation of Combat Missions ------------------------------- note: the original .lst files in your combat folder will be overwritten, you will not loose access to your exsisting Combat missions however. 0] Make sure you have the EH Shippatch for XvT installed from the SCO site (currently: http://sco.minos.net) - Find a subfolder of your EHBL one, there you'll find the needed files: 1] Place these files into your /Combat directory: IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, REBEL.LST, asf341m1.tie, asf341m2.tie, asf341m3.tie, asf341m4.tie 2] Create a new pilot for the mission based on your name or PIN and the mission number. For example, SL Stele playing Free Mission 80 would make a new pilot file named "StelFM80." or a Pilot with PIN 2883 playing Free Mission 69 would make a new pilot file named "2883fm69" 3] Begin flying the first battle mission, fly on till you've finished mission #4 Description ----------- This battle was made a a 4vs4 Combat Battle with as much "replay value" as possible from 1 install: Each of the Difficulty Settings generates its own mission, meaning you get 3 missions for 1. Further, because its a Combat Battle, you can also fly it from the Rebel side, meaning you get 6 missions for 1. Both sides have their own briefings, per Difficulty Setting, and the storyline continues from mission 1, easy to mission 1 medium, to mission 1 hard to mission 2 easy etc. Further more, Randomize On (not allowed for High score submission) will change all the craft even more; meaning almost endless variation. Care has been taken to equalize the Difficulty Settings, there is no saying that "Medium" is actually harder then "Easy" for example. I am also not sure which settings will get you the highest scores. Story Line ---------- Mission 1: You have been assigned to the ISDII Grey Wolf for this recon into Genkoan space. We are not sure if we can trust the Genkoans, as they seem to deal with the New Republic Spine Security Force often as well. [EASY] Accompany the ESC Corrupter on a routine check up on some Intel data we received about the NR-SSF and the Genkoans making a rendezvous near the Pyrath System. [MEDIUM] The Modified Frigate Rage is going to the Minos Cluster to investigate reports about large convoys passing through there from the Genko System to the New Republic. [HARD] The M/INT Vertex and VSD monitor are being send to the outskirts of the Bav System to intercept and destroy the Calamari Cruiser Sanctuary which has been hanging around there for some time now... Perhaps waiting for something? Mission 2: Because of the Grey Wolf's recon it is now very obvious that the NR-SSF and the Genko system are in liege against us. We have decided to strike hard at their combined fleets. The ISDII Intrepid's forces will start the hostilities. [EASY] From the wreckage of a convoy destroyed by Wing XIII we were able to retrieve the location of an exchange of goods between the NR-SSF and the Genkoans. Fighters from Wing XIV will hyper in and either destroy or disable the enemy freighters. In case you disable any craft, transports are standing by to capture. [MEDIUM] We have received a distress signal from the Corporate Division: One of their factories is under attack from combined Genkoan and NR-SSF forces apparently set to capture its goods. Hyper in and help them out. [HARD] Join the ISDII Intrepid in a full scale attack on a gathering of enemy star ships near the Phare System Mission 3: In their attacks on NR-SSF and Genkoan forces the ISDII Intrepid discovered that the deal between the two parties mostly consists of the exchange of military equipment. The ISDII Vanguard is ordered to stop this at its roots: by attacking the manufacturing facilities. [EASY] Join the VSD Shield and FRG Inflexible in an attack on a hidden base in the Bav System previously guarded by a Calamari Cruiser. The NR-SSF uses it to distribute equipment to and from the Genko System. [MEDIUM] The DREAD Calidor is sent out to take care of an Incom Factory that produces X-Wings for the NR-SSF. X-Wings that have lately started to show up in Genkoan forces as well. [HARD] The ISDII Vanguard will attack a NR-SSF Naval Base and attempt to capture at least one star ship. This will allow Intel to investigate other locations for this operation. Mission 4: Our operations have been very successful: the NR-SSF and Genkoans seem to be on the run. Now its time for the Aggressor Strike Force to finish them off. [EASY] The ISDII Grey Wolf takes on a Calamari Cruiser found patrolling in the Minos Cluster. The sides seem to be evenly matched for victory... [MEDIUM] The NR-SSF saved a lot of mostly wounded Genkoans from our last engagements and is returning them to their System. The ISDII Intrepid is sent in to disrupt the operation and perhaps take some more prisoners to interrogate. [HARD] The ISDII Vanguard and Avenger Squadron team up against the last major NR-SSF battle group in the area. They seem to be on the run, but we rather not see them escape to fight another day. NOTE ------------------- COMBAT NOTE: For these missions to work in MP, all players must have it installed on the same mission numbers, in this case "136" and up. Preferably do not change these numbers. GENERAL: You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), and the EHSP-XvT. To fly in Combat all players need the same version, make sure you all have the update by lucasarts installed. SINGLE PLAYER: This mission was made as a Combat Mission, its goal is to be fair to both sides so it can be played instead of a regular melee. MULTI PLAYER: For multiplayer this mission supports 4vs4 Combat and 4 player Co-Op. REBEL PLAYERS: This battle has been made for Imperial Pilots, as such the descriptions and storyline are aimed at Imperial Players. Rebel Players do have their own briefings and such though.
