Battle Reviews

I enjoyed this mission (on medium).
Well built, shows the Challenge squadrons very well. Good briefing and debrief.
Always fun to smash rebels.

Be prepared to dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge! Not sure this mission needed to be this hard, but trust Silwar to make it difficult!

This was a pretty enjoyable battle, very simple as far as objectives. I especially enjoyed the moment where the Rebels were calling Eagle and Firebird 'their' elite reinforcements and then seeing the pin drop when Eagle and Firebird showed their true colours. Would deep strike for Tempest again. 5/5

It's a fun mission with a built-in option for your primary goal as well, which is a nice touch you don't see all that often

I enjoyed this mission and had fun. It has an above average story and combat

A fun mission with a good dogfight/objective balance. will definitely replay on a harder difficulty after RTF.

Pretty simple mission really, enjoyable with an interesting selection of craft.

This was my first mission flown for EH, and I was not disappointed. How can you be disappointed when flying a Tie Defender?

My first attempt was with my VR headset, and that was a No Go. Way too choppy! There's just so many ships and a lot of action. So I started again with VR disabled, and most of the XWAU special effects turned down. Much, MUCH smoother.

This was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely be trying it out again. Gonna try to get a higher score next time!

Nice little fight. Really straight up and lots of fun. Works nicely with upgrade. Play it!

Well, I made this back when I was Tempest CMDR, but I just flew it for the first time in a while after flying a ton of battles for RtF so I want to give it an honest review.

It's a lot of dogfighting, but you do have to pay attention to what you're shooting at! You want to keep your bombers alive so they can do their job and you aren't left holding the bag the end of the mission. It's *hard* on hard, but pretty reasonable on medium. I think it's a solid mission overall, but there are a few things I'd change if I were to do it today; tiny details that would bump my own review from a 4 to a 5. Overall, worth flying, fun battle.

As someone who has only just started playing the older games, this mission is a lot of fun and actually helped me learn a bit about prioritising targets. My only gripe is that with such talent for these games in the EH it will be impossible for me to attain a decent enough score to get the IS-CW for the comp attached to this mission's release.

A wonderful mission. I know. I am not impartial judging this one. It's about the best squadron in the fleet and features yours truly and my squad mates, but objectively, the mission is flawless. Lots and lots of challenging yet very doable dogfighting while you are commandeering the Space Cadillac, aka the T/D. Be on the lookout for tiny TUGs and it adds another chuckle to this, otherwise, excellent mission. Fast and furious, my kind of fun. A golden classic and maybe also competition material.

This one is worth playing; fun and plenty of room to be more challenging on hard for more advanced players. 100% do-able on medium. For reference, I was able to beat it on medium in about 12 minutes.

As others said, it's a good blow-stuff-up mission. You get a few options for how you want to load out your T/D, so you can try out different strategies in a single mission. The briefing is fairly representative without going into too much detail and spoiling surprises. If you want to fly a mission with a briefing that tells you what you have to do in detail, this one might not be for you.

On hard it is quite a challenge, even when giving yourself all the advantages with your load out. I can't say that I've completely figured it out. It's a good opportunity to practice using wingman orders. It can get pretty hectic in the middle, so it also gives you the opportunity to practice prioritizing what is important vs. what is directly in front of you.

One thing that could be improved, if you want to see it as a 'bug' rather than a 'feature,' is behavior at the end when going for a high score, at least on hard. ... POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD ... On one play through, after about 20 minutes, while I was trying to mop up ... some unfortunate things happened, which was a little annoying. That said, it was kind of my fault because I was playing around, trying to get the high score, instead of following orders.

If you are starting to learn XWA mission creation, this would be a good example to play around with in a mission editor. It's a good example that shows how various things are set up.

Overall, well designed, fun, and not a huge commitment if you want to just knock out a mission.

It is indeed a fun mission with lots of dogfighting. It was a good balance of being challenging yet still fun. The only bad side to the mission by my standards is that while it was fun and easy on medium (flew it in first run with all bonus goals), it’s waay too hard on hard. I have flown and reflown it on hard 6 times and every time I’d eventually get overwhelmed by dozens of fighters.

Fun mission, with plenty of opportunity to blow up many (many) fighters. No major bugs encountered.

Battle Bug Reports

GN Master

-Thunder and Inferno do not have GU numbers.
-Update A/FRG orders so once they finish their 'SS-Circle' order and move onto SS-Hold Steady' order they don't move - otherwise they get way too close to the base.
--Using the same waypoints as 'SS-Circle' should work. Otherwise update to 'SS-Circle' with same WP but no throttle.
-Possible contender for BGIII Crest (Tempest) - with creators permission.
