I've revised this mission since Kenath Zoron's review. I've addressed the problems he mentioned and made many other subtle improvements. I hope it's much more enjoyable to play than it was before.

Kill-kill-kill mission. Nothing to do but kill wave after endless wave of alphabet fighters, along with a couple of cruisers. You have an ISD and a squadron of missile boats on your side, but the star destroyer just sits still and doesn't bother to return fire at its attackers, and the missile boats aren't equipped with missiles.

An enjoyable battle. Well thought out mission design and a coherent plot. Good use of difficulty settings. There were a few points where we were just sitting around and waiting (all of mission 6, for example).

Technically good (no major bugs, and briefings were nice), but very simplistic and completely unchallenging.

Very well-constructed battle. Trying to balance between destroying the escaping ships, defending yourself from starfighters, and defending other Imperial craft is a great challenge. The plotline made sense, and everything fit well together. Technical flaws were minimal. The mission was very enjoyable.

No plotlines, no technical innovations, no nothing. Just kill a bunch of Rebel corvettes. Note: On TIE 95, I didn't encounter the bug reported by Aero Slasher.

Primary and secondary goals are all trivial to complete. Briefings and plotline in general could use a lot of work. Technical problems (platform has starfighter orders, A-wings hyper out for no apparent reason).

Kill a couple of dreadnoughts, a few Y-wings, etc., etc. You could probably fly this mission (or design it) in your sleep.

Most of the missions were completely trivial. The exceptions are the mine-clearing mission, which is extremely difficult and fairly pointless (I had to use invincibility, which of course made it trivial) and the final battle, which is actually not too bad, although it would be nice if the ISD would return fire when attacked.

Well-balanced and well-designed battle, although the plot is hardly unique. Minimal technical problems, although the Calamari cruiser has starfighter orders.

Easy and simplistic killkillkill mission. (Why is the title "Ronin's backseat driving"?)

I found this to be a very enjoyable battle. Excellent use of humor, and the dogfighting was actually fun.

Just a bunch of dogfighting with T/Ds. Not much fun. Plot was OK for a free mission.

OK battle to fly, but the plotline wasn't especially engaging and there were many bugs and technical faux pas.

An enjoyable battle. Loses a point for tons of technical errors (e.g., starships with starfighter orders, ships holding steady for the entire mission, etc.) and an uncreative plot. I'd give it a 3.5.

I found this to be a really enjoyable and challenging mission with just a few problems. (I only flew it on hard, so my review only applies to that difficulty setting.) The CRL crashed into B-W Red if B-W Red wasn't captured in time, causing me to immediately fail the mission. Further clarification of what, exactly, the player is supposed to do would be helpful. For example, are we supposed to disable the unshielded fighters, or will the Corellian transports take care of that? There should also be some debriefing text when you lose the mission. Despite these problems, I still give this mission a 5, just because I found it to be a lot of fun, a good balance of dogfighting, escorting, attacking capital ships, etc.

There were two main problems with this battle: 1) the plotline was incoherent, and 2) the missions were poorly designed. Since plotline and missions make a battle, this is a bit of a problem. To elaborate: (1) No real storyline was communicated. For some reason, we felt the need to join up with the Rebels, but we never really know why. The bad guys have TIE Defenders, missile boats, and Imperial star destroyers, but we're never told how they came by these powerful weapons (although there's a hint of an explanation in mission 5). (2) There were many technical problems with the battles. For example, capital ships seldom defend themselves, and starfighters sometimes don't behave as they're supposed to. ΒΆ With substantial work in these two areas, this battle could be made into something, but for now, it's a bit of a dud.

Creative plot, but in the end, it's just a "kill everyone" battle.

Although not perfect, this battle was thoroughly enjoyable and rather technically complex. Technical errors were minimal (albeit still present) and the briefings were superb. Although there were a few problems, the battle was sufficiently enjoyable to deserve a 5 in my opinion.

Fun mission with a unique plot and some challenge. The in-flight dialogue is great, especially at the beginning of the mission, but a little more detail would be appreciated in the briefings.
