Battle Reviews

meh. i played it for Imperial Storm VII (with cheats) but it wasn't anything special. Hit the cruiser, help your allies, take the container, and hyperspace out. possible to do very quickly, especially with cheats. could be better on the plot and briefing though

I love the sense that this is connected to a larger story, but giving a little more context within the mission of that story would be nice. Some additional comm messages would be nice; who are these additional ships that show up? Would also be nice if those lines were voiced; even bad voice acting would be nice, because I don't have time to read messages while dogfighting. The mission itself is probably too easy, so long as you employ the usual tactics of jumping on craft exiting the hangar.

It's a small niggle, but not starting in a home area really breaks with the consistent pattern of XWA missions. I think I understand the choice; it takes over a minute to get to the action as-is, so perhaps it is for the best, but it did feel a bit jarring to go from exiting your hangar to suddenly in the mission area, with no mothership anywhere. Maybe have the mothership hyper out right away, saying they'll be back in a few minutes?

Mission Description: Backstory
Briefing: Clear, but limited information
Objectives: Personal adventure.
Difficulty Played On: Medium
Multiplayer: No
Replayability: Yes (Ordinance selection)
Bugs: Nil observed
Summary: Cargo pickup and space superiority against a pirate flotilla in a TIE/D.

Fun quick mission with a great story, not too hard. Make sure to not try and dog fight while carrying the seeds.

Interesting plot but that is as far as it goes for game-appeal. The mission itself is yet-another Space Cadillac vs the World, and what's more, things get so confusing about what to do with the containers, the attacking forces which battle each other, the E/S that docks. It is a complete mess, that can be completed after several attempts of trial-error. A brilliant and original idea gone to spoil for poor planning and explanation. Fly it for frustration's sake only.

Unique story, but that's as far as it goes. The battle itself was a bore... TIE Fortress, solo vs the flies. If you are wondering how to pick it up, shift+p (and not shift+d).

This mission is too easy! Even on hard level! But, it's a very relaxing melee mission. Three points, please. BTW Why the TIE Defender is used for such work? Delivering Rose seeds, lololol :-D

Fun mission with a unique plot and some challenge. The in-flight dialogue is great, especially at the beginning of the mission, but a little more detail would be appreciated in the briefings.

On my first attempt, the nav buoy leading home never appeared. The only thing I know was different on my second attempt was that the lancer frigate got destroyed, so maybe that has some effect?

DESCRIPTION:

This project was designed specifically for the Avenger contest to determine why ShadowHawk always puts a rose on the altar--or why there is even an altar to begin with... :)

My thanks to George Lucas fore creating the wonderful universe to play in. I was almost AWOL to be enlisted into the army the night Star Wars opened up in 1977.

Also thanks to Troy Dangerfield for making a hassle-free mission editor. It's still work designing missions, but it is a very user-friendly program.
