This battle is not worth playing, imo. The first mission has a secondary objective which if not completed soft-locks the game and prevents a primary mission from being completed. If an objective is mandatory, then by definition it's a primary objective--not secondary!
On mission 2 I disabled and eventually destroyed the Lakul while it was still docked. This again soft-locked the level, at least it appeared to prevent the Corvettes from appearing. Mission 3 my wingman destroyed the Corvettes rather than disabled them, resulting in the mission to fail.
Mission 5 has a mandatory requirement to destroy all starfighters even though the objective is to take out the capital ships, so I somehow failed that as I was decimatiting the capital ships which were launching the starfighters. I'm not sure the starfighters no longer could launch or if one of them hyperspaced out, but either way it does not sound like a failed mission based on the briefing. Worse yet, I am put in a missle boat and told to dogfight. Every thing can outrun me. All in all, was not fun and extremely time consuming.

Liked the varied missions and craft changes, pretty easy but fun to play

I played on Medium. The missions are decent enough and there was a bit of a plot that worked. Unfortunately, a lot of the missions just involve killing a capital ship and then a ton of starfighters or have really long timers that you have to wait for. I finished Mission 1 by the 5-minute mark and then had to fast forward to the 12-minute mark so that the transport could do its job. If a little more care had been put into the missions, I think this could've been rated higher.

OK battle to fly, but the plotline wasn't especially engaging and there were many bugs and technical faux pas.

Well, this was a fun and interesting battle with good briefings and a pretty good story so I do recommend it. However, the last battle will be a bit annoying and the battle is easy overall. Pilots of some skill will have no difficulty blasting through this. It’s a good source for quick FCHG points if you need them for some reason, as it is an easy 6-mission battle. I give it a 4.40 (rounded down to a 4 for purposes of the EH review scale.)

Personally I thought it was a excellent idea. The storyline was indeed good. A fun battle to play but wasn't the greatest battles. Nevertheless, a great battle to fly when bored.

I can't give any battle a 0, but I was tempted. Plain and simple, a bad battle. A number of bugs, a thin plotline, and horrible replay value. Bugs: 1. Mission 2 - ATR won't appear sometimes. 2. Mission 3 - Beam weapon status (the blue triangle) hovers over your aimer on the HUD. 3. Mission 5 briefing - If you click on the >> button, it crashes Windows 95. Just a bad battle. Not one I would recommend to anyone but the desparate for FCHG points

This was a fun mission. A nice mix of straight combat and some search functions as well. The plot was fairly well done and things flowed from one mission to the next.

Nice, balanced battle that is fun to fly. Perhaps a little thin plot-wise, but otherwise a good battle.

Very good battle. Missions are ballanced, and free of any bugs. Great job, Tethys :)

Battle 13 Find The Lakul (6 Missions) Status: Plotline approved (NL #14) Designer: CMDR/GN Tethys/Nu-1/VSD For Mission 1 - completed/posted (NL #14) Mission 2 - completed/posted (NL #14) Missions 3 to 6 - completed by TO/AD Katarn/CS-6/SSSD Sov Medal: See the Medal Board Section of the NL MISSION 1 Rebels and Pirates are attacking Research Station "Regula-1". They are attempting to steal a newly discovered mineral ore called Mithril. The ore, when refined and combined with another metal, Hafnium, forms a composite metal that is light and very strong, and represents the next generation of advanced starship hulls. Mithril, however, by itself is radioactive and requires special shielding when storing and transporting. The Lakul, a specially modified Muurian Transport, is being used by the Rebels to transport the stolen ore. As the player enters, the Lakul, is about to board the station, and will be long gone by the time help arrives. However, the Corellian Transport Ydriss is waiting to board the station in an attempt to kidnap the research scientists. The player must disable the Ydriss before it reaches hyperspace, as well as "mopping up" any Rebel and Pirate ships left in the area. MISSION 2 Intelligence has discovered from interogating prisoners from Mission 1 that the Lakul is headed for the deep space refining station, Ditalex-1, operated by one of the many criminal organizations that plague the Galaxy. As the mission opens, the Lakul has just finished onloading the refined Mithril and is preparing to jump into hyperspace. Once again, she will be gone before the player can catch her but the Empire will still want to capture the refinery MISSION 3 After the capture of Ditalex-1, Intelligence has lost all track of the Lakul. However, Imperial Spys have discovered that a shipment of Hafnium will be coming through customs at outpost NL-1, established by then Vice-Admiral Thrawn. Intelligence hopes that if the ship carrying the Hafnium can be captured, Intel operatives can pose as the ships crew and then discover the location of the Lakul. To this end, the player will pose as regular pilot, even flying a Tie Interceptor so as to not alert the Rebels that we are on to them. However, the T/I will specially equipped with shields and a jammer; Hammer pilots are too valueable to lose! The player must inspect all ships passing outpost NL-1. MISSION 4 With the success of Mission 3, Intel has discovered the Pirates' base of operations. At last report, the Lakul was at this location but Intel has lost contact with it's agents and fears that the ship may have been moved. In any case, the Emperor wants the Pirate Base totally destroyed, as an object lesson to those who aid the Rebels. MISSION 5 An Imperial Probe has discovered the Lakul. She is presently in interstellar space being protected by two Modified Corvettes and a Dreadnaught. Top priority is to disable the Lakul, and then to protect the boarding operation to capture the ship. The Rebels and Pirates can be expected to defend the ship at all costs! MISSION 6 With the capture of the Lakul, the Emperor has ordered the ship taken to the Dark-Side planet Byss for safekeeping. The player is ordered to escort the ship until she can safely reach her hyperspace point. The Rebels and Pirates will undoubtedly attempt to recapture the Lakul, or failing that, destroy her.
