I was glad to get to play a decent story in this mission and enjoyed the storyline. The negative part was that even on easy they took the hard sections a bit too far. You really have to quickly take out the torpedos those B-Wings throw around. Overall a 3.5, but a solid one.

Storyline overall was good and a bit of fun. The missions did try to be challenging. Briefing, the map itself almost non-existent. The chatter with the officer did have its moments. There is an attempt to make it a high-score chase and in that respect it succeeds. Where it fails is some of the missions are the bad kind of hard. Example, the one whereby you have to shoot almost every torpedo heading towards the two corvettes. There are some problems as well, which can be easily fixed, such as two of the three Calamaris not firing and all three Calamaris being stationary on Mission 1. There are more such problems along the way, but overall does enough to earn more than a three, yet shy of a perfect five. Flying in a shieldless TIE Fighter is not the issue. That is easily overstepped through most of the missions.

This one is hard to grade. The plotline is original, well written and very entertaining. The flying part though, is for unshielded hardcore fans only. The T/F is a capable little fighter, but some missions were just too much. On Hard level, mission 2 is almost impossible to complete. Bringing down an attack of 6 simultaneous Y-Ws armed with torps against a couple of stranded standard CRVs is just too much. Unless you are the sharpest shooter in the galaxy, blowing up flying torpedoes with the lame dual lasers on your T/F will drive you crazy. The CRVs will die every time. On the other side, on Easy level, no enemies appear. A clear error (yet not a bug since the mission is perfectly flyable) that unbalances the whole mission, kind of ruining it. Also, it will be impossible to sink either the CRS and INT in mission 3 unless the MIS do their job. The battle, however, as challenging as it is, was a lot of fun to fly, if not for these minor complications. Additionally the bonus goals in some missions are poorly programmed. But, if you want a tough nut to crack chasing a High Score, try this one. Your nerves will not be disappointed.

This was an enjoyable battle, and one that stands up to the test of time in terms of plot. However, one thing prevents it getting 5 stars - you start in a Missile Boat and then are downgraded to a generic TIE, fighting off endless waves of incoming ships. One mistake and game over, even on Easy and Medium - a shame, really.

So I will be honest, I really liked this mission! It was fun and engaging and actually believable for once. Some of the story lines I have played for missions are really way out there. For mission 2, if you play on easy, just power down and wait it out. Go make a sandwich. No enemies come in. It does get pretty dull. But I am kind of a crappy pilot, so I usually play on easy. The plot is that basically your CMDR gets lost during a battle and your squadron has to go on a mission to hunt him down, while at the same time mixing it up with pilots and Rebel scum. The briefings are absolutely hilarious, and really sounds like some comical crap that would happen aboard the Warrior. In flight chatter is hilarious too, and the missions seem very well balanced and definitely beatable without being difficult.

Excellent battle. The briefings were perfect. The only thing I didn't like was shooting several waves of B-wings with a Tie Fighter, that was boring. But everything else was great and quite challenging.

This really is a good mission though you have to be patient flying a Tie .As long as you dodge at the right moment when a reb has you in their sights you will have no problem. Its got a great story and its damn funny too, make sure you fly this one!

Great Battle, which is fun to play. Why? Because it has a good plotline, you fly the best fighter in the Empire and it's realistic. You don't get 100 kills in a mission.

I just loved it. It had simply the best plotline I've seen in TIE this year, or even in 2004. This is a true battle, you fly REAL fighters and the Briefing officer is hilarious. I love this battle, great work Fahrer.

Title: The Search for Mosh Missions: 4 Medal: Commendation of craziness Game platform: TIE-Fighter(Disk/CD/95) Author: FL/LCM Fahrer/Hammer 3-1/Wing IX/ISD Relentless E-mail: jimnic@abv.bg Required patches ---------------- * none Installation instructions -------------------------- 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle 2] Check the Misc folder in your TIE95 one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the TIE Fighter button on the EHBL to start the game 4] Create a new pilot and fly the first battle ABOUT THE BATTLE ---------------------- Short descripton: Hammer Squadron's CMDR, LC Mosh has disappeared. Go search for him in absurdly named craft. Want more? Read [plotline.txt] This idea for this battle came to me when Mosh(my CMDR) was missing for a few days from the Internet, because he had problems with his connection. For a detailed story, read [Plotline.txt], included with this battle. Have in mind that I have included some humour in the battle, to make up for the rather easy difficulty and short number of missions(well, it IS my first attempt). You will probably not like it(I have a really high sense of humour). Finally, this battle is not meant for those of you who like to play all missions on hard - as I said, its rather easy. Well, enjoy. THANKS ------------------------ Special thanks go my CMDR, LC Mosh, who not only allowed me to use his name in this battle, but also tested it, told me about some spelling mistakes and bugs, and gave me his comments. THE SEARCH FOR MOSH: PLOTLINE ----------------------------------- NOTE: Read 'Prologue' before you play the battle and 'Epilogue' after you play it. In this battle, you will play the role of LT Copperdog, flight member of Hammer Squadron. Prologue ======== The Science Office has developed a new type of communication systems suitable for starfighters and medium-class starships. New features include: ability to communicate over great distances; almost perfect encoding of the transmission; free access to the TIE Corps radio; perfect sound; and much more. The ISD Relentless is one of the first ships to receive the new systems. The technology safely arrived on-board and was equipped on all starfighters and transports. Several days later, the Relentless made a jump outside of EH Territories. Its mission was to deal as much damage as possible to both pirates and republicans. Which it did. However, the mission lasted very long, and the ship's supplies were starting to run out. Command decided to send a convoy with supplies and ammunition. Spear, Shield, Dagger and Crossbow were sent to escort it to the Relentless, while Sword and Hammer guarded the ISD - just in case. But it appears that the New Republic has somehow learned of the coordinates of the Relentless and is now launching an attack to destroy it. Mission 1 ========= Player's craft: Missile boat(double load of heavy rockets) The ISD Relentless has picked up three cruisers of the New Republic heading toward their location. Sword squadron is in the cantina, so Hammer is the only one who can protect the ISD. They are sent to patrol the area until the rebels arrive and to destroy the cruisers once they do. An A-Wing sent to scout the area drops out of hyperspace and quickly prepares to jump out again. Shortly after that, two CRLs and one CRS arrive at the scene and launch fighters and bombers. LC Mosh orders the T/Ds(flight I and II) to engage the fighters, while the Missile boats(flight III) take out the enemy cruisers. Several Assault Transports also join the rebel(alright, republican) forces. After the three cruisers are destroyed, the enemy fighters start fleeing. LC Mosh decides to follow them and see if he can learn how the enemy knew where the Relentless was. The rest of Hammer Squadron go back to the hangar and take Sword's place in the cantina. Mission 2 ========= Player's craft: TIE-Fighter(no warheads) LCM Fahrer, flight III's FL, decides that something has happened to their CMDR, after he has been missing for a whole day. While Crossbow squadron is busy scouting the area for more Republic forces, the FL calls LT Copperdog. He(Fahrer) has found an old freighter and two TIE-Fighters and the two pilots use them to go after Mosh. After they arrive, they see only two CRVs, apparently with non-working systems. Their crew agrees to help the two Imperials, if they protect them until they can leave the area - they are being chased by pirates, but their systems have failed. Reinforcements will arrive soon, but they're defenseless. Fahrer and Copperdog agree and start a patrol. Soon, several pirate Y-Wings, armed with torpedos arrive in the area and start attacking the CRVs. Fahrer and Copperdog engage them, but soon enemy Z-95s also join the combat. Two TRNs come to repair the systems of the CRVs. After a long fight, the CRVs are finally repaired and leave the area. They say that a T/D designated Hammer 1 1 has gone to the Carrida system. Mission 3 ========= Player's craft: TIE-Fighter(no warheads) The Carrida system stretches over two sectors and Fahrer and Copperdog need to split up. The FL leaves his FM in one of them and takes the FRT to the other. Unfortunately, Copperdog doesn't find anything except several neutral PLTs. Fahrer soon arrives, telling him he has found Mosh. His engines have failed and he can't contact anyone, because the new communication system aren't working properly. The neutrals refuse to repair Mosh's T/D, but after being attacked by pirates, they call for help. The Imperial pilots assist them and soon a SHU is sent to repair the T/D. Mission 4 ========= Player's craft: TIE-Fighter(no warheads) Mosh is finally found and the neutral shuttle launches from the FRT to repair his fighter. Unfortunately, an A-Wing attacks and is followed by a rebel cruiser AND an Interdictor. The shuttle reports the T/D can't be repaired easily, so it takes him to the FRT's hangar. There he tries to repair his communications system and call for help. After a long battle with the enemy X-Wings, the VSD Rapier arrives with Shield Squadron, who take out the enemy starships. Epilogue ======== Fahrer and Copperdog have to do boring routine patrols for a whole month, because they went on a mission without getting permission. However, their commander soon makes sure they are back to their usual positions. A few hours later the convoy arrives and the Relentless goes back to the EH territories without any more problems(which means boring patrols for everyone!). The Science Officer learns of the problems with their new communication systems and begin 'improving their performance'. NOTE: No jokes were included here. If you want jokes, play the battle or e-mail me. I'm practically a library for jokes.
