Battle Reviews

I don't really like flying in a TIE Experimental, especially when you have to kill a capitol all by your self as your wingmen die quick. If it wasn't for that in mission 3 this would be an easy 5 for me as I liked the story a lot.

Pretty good battle if a little hard. Its really easy to get overwhelmed!

I played on Easy with cheats. This battle is pretty decent. Playing as the experimental TIEs is a cool change of pace. Nothing particularly wowed me about this battle, but it had relatively unique objectives so it gets a decent score from me.

I had fun with this one. The plot was okay, but the missions seemed overall well-made. The experimental tie was fun to use, but I was glad to get out of it by the end. I didn't run into any of the bugs other had mentioned, so if you avoid those hopefully you'll enjoy this battle.

Had to try the first mission four times because the mission critical T/E1 kept committing seppuku on the platform.

This is mostly fun flying some unusual ships, but mission 3 was awful, The T/e1 is far too fragile to be flown near aggressive cap ship AI - your allies are quickly wiped out and you're constantly at risk of one stray laser causing you to refly. On the plus side, nothing was overly long and it didn't feel too frustrating to retry one mission about 10 times.

It's a good battle, well laid-out, with a nice story behind. If not for some minor flaws, such as using the TIE-M1 Experimental, too many times, the mission is fun to fly, challenging and almost perfect as planned. Only one word of advice, I had to refly a seizure mission because even though the boarding parties had jumped to safety, the game wouldn't acknowledge completion of primary goals. Had to re-fly it and this is no fun at all after 40 minutes of dogfighting and dodging bullets, while in a sluggish Toscan.

This battle has straightforward missions with some tricky bits. One of my pet peeves is missions where you have to wait for a capital ship to hyper in after a set amount of time. This battle has two of those missions, which I found extra annoying because you're stuck in an unshielded experimental TIE trying to survive after you've completed the objectives. It's a challenge, but one of those missions would be enough for one battle.

Fun battle! Nice humour. Good to be able to fly an experimental TIE.

Another great battle from Ender. Go fly it!

Description
-----------
This battle has been made to celebrate RA Locke's appointment as Commodore and
to advertise and test the use of the M/SC patch for XWA.

Story Line
----------
1. Colonel Locke Setzer of Tempest Squadron has been appointed the new Commodore of the
ISDII Immortal. The ISDII Challenge has dropped him off at a Customs Base in the Aurora
Prime system, where he will be picked up by the VSD Ravager of the Immortal Battlegroup.
The first flight of Demon Squadron has been dropped off by the FRG Perseus to escort the
newly appointed Rear Admiral from the station to the VSD Ravager. Until that ship arrives
it will assist the base by doing some customs checks on the passing freighters and
transports.
The whole operation should be done in less than ten minutes. No trouble is to be expected

2. We want to know how the Rebels found out that our new Commodore was waiting for the
Ravager at the Aurora XII customs base. For this we will check out our usual sources in
the underground: the scum that is entertained at "Dunari's Casino".
Since these "Free Traders" don't like the Empire much and we want to keep our sources in
tact we cannot go there with our regular force for such operations. For this we have
repainted a Vampire Squadron Toscan Fighter to look like the ones used by Pirates and such.
You are to go to the Casino, spend some money and keep your eyes peeled. We are especially
interested in what happens at the Casino itself and on any Starships that might be around.
In case you do need help we have another Vampire Flight standing by to assist...

3. While Vampire Squadron was investigating Dinari's Casino, the VSD Ravager was pulled out
of hyperspace by a Rebel Modified Strike Cruiser and ambushed by a Calamari Cruiser. Help
in the form of the ISDII Immortal is under way, but until it arrives the Ravager will be
dependant of the defence that Demon Squadron can deliver.
We know now that the traitor is the captain of the Frigate Perseus, who craved the position
of Commodore himself. His crew is probably supporting him because they all wanted to move
up a step as well. Lately there has been critism from these ship crews about the fact that
the fighter pilots of the TIE Corps "always get the good jobs".
His force however consists of just a single Frigate and he only has one squadron left.
Unless he gets amnesty from the New Republic he won't stand much of a chance. The High
Court of Inquisitors is already investigating the case.

4. Letting the traitor shuttle escape was a good idea, it was followed by the ESC Trantor
and Vampire Squadron and brought us to the lone FRG Perseus. After what happened in the
last few missions the Rebels have apparently dropped its crew like a brick and its all
alone now.
Vampire Squadron is to disable the Frigate Perseus and destroy its fighter defenses. The
ISDII Immortal is under way to assist but might take a few minutes to arrive, do not let
any of the Traitors escape - We want them brought to justice, the HCI way.

NOTE
-------------------
You need XWA (or at least all the ships involved there) AND the M/SC Patch. (and preferably
