A fairly enjoyable battle with some diversity in the missions it offers.
My seventy-second battle in the TIE Corps.

That is the first really acceptable IW battle I flew. Not bad designed without bugs, nice variety of ships and a good storyline. But whatfor the IW was sent to that battle, this is still a bit out of my understanding. My negative points are the difficulties of mission 3 and 4. I can recommend that one, but there are better battles around.

The mission’s are designed well and combat sequences are never boring. On down side there are a few errors, not major, but they can course real problems to the player at times.

Looking forward to the diversity offered by non-imperial battles, I was dissappointed by the fact the battle did not work. There were numerous bugs, making it impossable to complete some missions. I do appreiciate the effort put into the story line, excelent thought and details. But the battle does not work. Hats off to the designers effort, but maby the IW could step up and test thier battles. :p

fun, with a reasonable dificulty and balancing, not the most original storyline, but the missions aren't all "fly, kill, return" not too bad

Mission 1: Briefing is very barebones. IW fighters do not attack the Mechanoid R-41s. Mission 4: Disable objective should specify individual targets (it overlaps with the "destroy 50% of the enemy platforms" objective). Mission 6: CRV Harlow, CRS Bismarck, ISD Avenger and ISD Sovereign have no orders.

INFILTRATOR WING BATTLE 17 Approved 11-17-98 by the IW Tactical Office Minos Outlaws Campaign Series, Battle 3: Dar’Telis Expansion – Exterminate the Mechanoids Medal: Crest of Silicon Battle created by IWTAC/EM Proton (proton2001@hotmail.com) October 1998 BATTLE NOTES: This six-mission X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter battle was created for the use of the Infiltrator Wing of the Emperor’s Hammer. It is the third of three battles in the Minos Outlaws series by IWTAC/EM Proton. All Imperial pilots are encouraged to fly this battle. All missions have a choice of two to four IW craft to fly; the Rebel side is flyable also, but this was a secondary concern during the construction, and the Rebel side has no goals. Perhaps the Rebel side of the battle will be developed later, but it is not being done yet because the primary focus is to get the battle out where IW and other EH pilots can use it. The battle could be used for online competitions as well. For full appreciation of the Minos Outlaws story, pilots are urged to fly the first two battles as well (for the X-Wing and the TIE Fighter games, respectively). Required patches ---------------- none Installation instructions -------------------------- 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle 2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the X-wing vs TIE Fighter button on the EHBL to start the game 4] Create a new pilot and fly the Imperial training missions BATTLE SUMMARY: Emperor’s Hammer high command has determined there can be no further reluctance to eliminate the Dar’Telis outlaw threat with maximum application of force. For decades, Imperial convoys and small military expeditions have been ravaged by the hit-and-run predations of Tyrranian mechanoid pirates. Their zealous defense of their cruel, isolationist society must not continue. Because of its successes in the Lyccos system, Infiltrator Wing has been dispatched to Dar’Telis to terminate the threat to Emperor’s Hammer hegemony in the region and exterminate the persistent spacefaring elements of the mechanoids. Mission 1 – Three freighters detected in Dar’Telis space controlled by the Tyrranian Mechanoid pirates must be inspected. The IWCS is trying to find out what shipments and materiel buildups the Mechanoids are conducting, so full assaults in the system can be planned. Rebel fighters have been detected in the area. X-wing Silver is the lead craft in this mission. Mission 2 – X-wing Silver and Y-wing Thunder are hypering into a Dar’Telis location where several Mechanoid cargo craft are expected to arrive momentarily. Thunder must destroy all incoming Mechanoid craft while Silver flies escort and assists in the destruction. Unfortunately, Rebel starfighters have just entered the system as well and they must be swept aside so we can complete this important mission. Mission 3 – Data collected by our starfighters’ astronavigation and sensor equipment from the Tyrranian cargo ships in the previous mission has given us a major opportunity. It has led us to the location of a vast array of Mechanoid platforms. These platforms are used as a major Mechanoid communications and command installation, plus military materiel shipping and logistics, as well as troop barracks and weaponry research and development. In short, we believe we have uncovered the biggest Tyrranian space base. If we can eliminate it, our objectives will be nearly completed in the the vital Dar’Telis system. The Tyrranian Mechanoids will be cowed into unimportance if we can conquer this vast depot. The first step is to inspect the installation and certain primary defense craft. Y-wing Thunder has been ordered to lead this mission. A-wing Intruder and X-wing Knight will fly cover. Mission 4 – It’s time to start taking out the installation’s key components. The hangar, troop and weapons platforms are first. Any cargo or shuttle craft in the vicinity or trying to get away also must be obliterated. Numerous Infiltrator Wing starfighter groups will participate in this strike, flying from the Saratoga and the Bismarck. The Ark Royal is en route with reinforcements. Mission 5 – The rest of the installation will be annihilated in this engagement. Tyrranian reinforcements and Rebel troublemakers will be major obstacles in this mission. We must be quick and efficient or our forces, as numerous as they are, could be overwhelmed. We must not fail! Mission 6 – Our capital ships are preparing to align themselves in all the key locations to launch ground strikes against the Tyrranian Mechanoids. This operation will complete the Infiltrator Wing’s objective, to eliminate all Mechanoid designs to expand beyond their planetary havens and cause trouble for the Emperor’s Hammer and its overall goals in the Minos Cluster. Our victories to date have been so impressive that the SSSD Sovereign and the SSD Avenger will arrive to observe the IW fleet operations. We still may expect a last-ditch desperation assault from the cunning Mechanoids. Intelligence is certain that a few remote space outposts remain in control of the pirates, and they still may possess substantial forces. Furthermore, Rebel traffic in this region of space has picked up again within the last two hours. Be alert, all IW starfighter forces.
