Battle Reviews

Setting aside my belief that the Vong are the absolute worst thing in Star Wars lore, as well as my strong dislike of the artistic choice to use certain ships to represent other ships... I think it's well designed, but repetitive. A lot of the missions come down to protecting ships - and you better be ready to shoot warheads out of the sky if you want them to survive. There's also a couple missions where the structure / ship orders make things more tedious then they probably need to be (ex: Challenge not leaving until after I blew up a CRS out of boredom in Mission #5). Some more variety or less missions would have definitely helped improve this experience.

Expertly designed with a well delivered plot and missions that never turn to tedium. A treat !

My hundred and ninth battle in the TIE Corps.

It's a decent battle, though it felt a bit repetitive as the scenario from one mission to the next was not that different. I always embrace the chance to fly in a Missile Boat. Just be sure to keep two rockets in the warhead launcher #1 and siwtch to adv conc missiles (warhead launcher #2), and empty it, leaving only 2 adv concs there. Jump to your wingman, rinse and repeat.

The battle is well designed and details have been taken care, however, as with many creations out there, the authors forget the bug about the MIS which prevents from unloading all ordnance once the first launchers are depleted. And this was no exception. The last battle turned out to be a messy nightmare of useless MIS, unless you opted for the T/Ds, in which case you would have to sink many CRS and CRL with the old lasers and ions. Tedious. A pity, since the rest of the battle has been crafted with excellence

A very enjoyable battle scenario. Each mission was a believable scenario and was executed well. A little bit of imagination is required for enemy craft, but I thought the use of the types was well warranted. No bugs to report.

The missions were interesting and pretty straighforward with no issues. Like Demps said in her review, it's weird fighting the Vong when they're flying rebel fighters and cap ships. I was never a fan of the Vong War stuff, so I tried to ignore the plotline and the Vong names for craft.

This is the first battle to receive a major overhaul. Stuff like grammar, spelling, flow of the missions, briefings etc were all dealt with. I think the overall feel of the battle has stayed pretty much intact (hopefully).
The battle itself has a decent idea, just too bad it's about the Vong. A-wings and X-wings and CRS as Vong ships just don't do it :) Still, it's an enjoyable fly...

an ok battle. hard on some missions, nice job though...

I didn't like it. In mission 4, ships take too bloody long to hyper and when they do you find out that the mission hasn't been completed. WTH is BA Reve and how come all the cap ships hypered (CRS takes 15 mins to hyper which makes this mission a good 30 mins) but the mission wasn't comlete!! That mission is in bad need of more information cos i was in complete confusion.

This battle is very boring, you only get to fly two kinds of fighters and face two kinds of fighters. The missions are pretty repetitive, the briefings are poorly organized and with some of the worse English I've seen. I hope this battle didn't won the prize just because the creator says the enemies are Vong. If so, then prepare yourselves for "Emperor's Hammer vs Soviet Union", made by Gunman :P

I feel that this battle is highly overrated... It felt very unpolished to me, and it seems like whoever did the beta correction of it wasn't doing a very good job of it. Aren't spelling and grammar mistakes supposed to be taken care of in the beta process? This battle's title has a mistake in it! I am understanding that the creator has English as a second or lower language, but somebody testing or correcting the battle ought to have been able to provide corrections! Besides that, the missions themselves have minor bugs with them. For example, some enemy As fail to arrive in mission 1 if a cruiser is destroyed before all the As have arrived, making the mission unfinishable. In mission 2, when taking a GUN it is nearly impossible to save the ATR from destruction (but relatively easy with a TA, was this battle tested with both craft?) In addition to this, the briefings don't even work half the time! Many screens skip by too fast to be fully read. In other words, this could be a good battle but badly needs to have a better correction job done on it.

This battle was interesting as far as the Vong concept was concerned, but i would have preferred another IW capitol ship to have been chosen to be destroyed (something not as important as the MC-90 Fear). If not for that fact i would have rated this battle higher.

The battle is rather good, there are a few 'conditions and orders' which could use a rethink, but overhaul the missions were good and balanced.

It was a lot of fun to finally fly the vong, only the missions did get a little repetitive-destroy some DREAD, CRS and Fighters.

Im Speechless, i truly am, this is one awesome CAB, i recommend it to everyone and anyone!

Excellent Battle, finally the vong are entering the EH universe :) Battle is free of bugs, enjoy it !
