A little different but pretty straight-forward and relatively short. Always nice to fly as Typhoon!

Not sure why this mission got such high grades. It is very uneventful. The briefing was good. Debriefing was lackluster. Some people may like how short it was as a mission but otherwise not very smart and not very hard either.

The plotline is very original. The mission is fairly simple, an excellent source of quick fun. Being fun and bug free _is_ a reason for 5.

This was a very average mission. There was a little stab at humor, but the "looney" guy was mostly bland. The mission design wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. It's a simple, short mission that's good for competitions or a quick FCHG point. (Merely being fun and bug free does not deserve a 5, by the way.)

A little simple, but still good nonetheless.

A very good battle...difficult at first but managable, and a decent plot to boot.

I thought this had a great mix of things to do, although it could get a bit hard. I think that after running through it once, you can do it pretty well a second time. :)

Description:
------------
"Haaahaaaahaaaa!" Ahkliat laughed aloud from his cell aboard the medical
frigate, Tranquility. The lighting within the former commander's cell cast
strange and evil shadows that threatened to envelope the fragile mind of the
once-great pilot. "Guards, guards, dammnit get in here, the demons are gonna
get me!" "Okay, okay -t so there aren't any demons in here you know that as
well as I do, but will someone get me a drink of water? -how 'bout a nice
salad with those crunchy little croutons everyone loves so much?" The guards
stationed outside Ahkliat's cell paid him no heed and only glanced at one
another with the sad knowledge that one of the Empire's finest had succumbed
to madness.
It was rumored that commander Ahkliat had finally snapped under the
pressure of attempting to understand Imperial codes and encryption measures
in order to pass the Intel Office test. No such luck, thirty-two hours later
Ahkliat would be found lying on the floor of the testing cubicle muttering
something about "The Happy Little Elves" -he claimed that they'd taken the
test for him and, "passed with flying colors!" It was then that command
decided that Ahkliat needed a break, a restful sojourn aboard the medical
frigate Tranquility was ordered. "I'm the king of the universe baby, and the
king demands a bottle of whiskey and a good hooker!" Ahkliat shrieked. "Sir,
you need to calm down now and be a good boy or else well have to take you
back to, "Room 3118" one of the guards remarked. "Oh no, not that! anything
but that!" Ahkliat's voice began to quaver, "I'll be a good little pilot from
now on, I promise, just don't take me back to Room 3118 please!" Well, sir
If you promise to behave yourself, I'll ask Dr. Vortoss to go easier on you
on your next visit to Roo--
The guard never finished his sentence as a sharp jolt rocked the frigate.
Klaxons began to blare and a voice could be overheard emanating from the
comm, "All hands, we are under attack! Battle stations!" Ahkliat was
attempting to stand up when he was violently slammed against one of the walls
of his cell as another spasm jerked the ship.
Smoke, acrid and stinging, choked Ahkliat's throat. He could dimly see
that the door to his cell had come open.
"Guards? Are you there?" Ahkliat coughed out but no one answered his
query. The alarm continued to sound overhead as he stepped out into the
hallway. Ahkliat noticed that his guards were quite dead, having been thrown
about like rag dolls as rockets pounded the ship. "I can hear the singing of
those Demon and Angels, oh yeah!" Ahkliat mumbled. "I'm coming!" Ahkliat
cheered, and with that, he ran down the hallway. By either sheer instinct or
luck, Ahkliat found himself in the docking bay of the frigate. he could see
that a battle was raging outside, New Republic cruisers were mercilessly
hammering the Tranquility and it's attendant corvettes. Another explosion
rocked the ship, it could be seen that one of the corvettes burst into a
white hot ball of flame. "Oh boy! the angels are sure mad, I gotta go!"
Ahkliat said aloud and to no one in particular. Foregoing the annoyance of a
flight suit, Ahkliat found a TIE Defender ready to go in the launch tube and
jumped right on in. Without flight control to aid him in takeoff, Ahkliat
released the docking clamps holding the TIE D in place from his console
aboard the fighter. The fighter fell through the airlock into the vastness of
open space, and not a moment too soon. The frigate Tranquility lurched
sharply and then buckled like a tin can as a volley of heavy rockets slammed
into the doomed ship. Ahkliat was sweating as he gripped the throttle, he
punched up the ignition sequence and was pressed into his seat as the TIE
Defender sped away from the frigate. Ahkliat could see that a New Republic
strike group had unwittingly been the instrument of his freedom. Ahkliat's
freedom had come at a terrible price, he could see the frigate slowly
breaking apart. "It didn't even explode" Ahkliat thought to himself, the
frigate was transformed into a twisted mass of metal and burning bodies,
somehow it didn't seem right to Ahkliat that the frigate did not explode,
even in it's death throes the frigate was denied dignity. Ahkliat was not
given the opportunity to ponder the destruction of the frigate for long, as
his sensors were blaring, warning him to the fact he had a score of New
Republic pests to contend with, Y-Wings to be exact. The fighters were
locking missiles on him but Ahkliat remained calm as he quickly punched up
the coordinates of where he believed the ISD Challenge was to be found. The
stars melted into a white mass as Ahkliat's ship slipped into the folds of
hyperspace. True enough, when Ahkliat's ship dropped out of hyperspace, he
could see the Challenge ahead. "This is Challenge Flight Control to incoming
fighter, please transmit ident code and hold station" Ahkliat could hear over
his comm. "This is commander Ahkliat to ISD Challenge, I'm home boys, and
I've brought the hordes of hell and the host of heaven with me, and we
aren't happy!"
Ahkliat began his attack...
