I really enjoyed the story of this battle. I would have preferred to start with 200% shields and not have quite so long a wait in M1 but I understand the narrative reason for it and the story was worth it.

I think it's on par with the previous two Rion battles, although it's probably my favorite of them. I actually didn't mind the first two quieter missions personally, but the next three big battles are certainly plenty of action if you find yourself in need of something larger.

Alright battle that starts out a little slow in the first two missions but then ends in several quite big engagements, which is always fun. Be careful though not to draw too many opponents to target you simultaneously.

Not the best of the series of the Rionese Confederation, but is packed with all sorts of roles to fulfill, see dogfighting, mine sweeping and eventually heavy assault. The X-Wing is a balanced fighter and fun to fly. If you started the previous installments of the Rion Sector, you can't miss this one.

This was, currently, the weakest of the series for a variety of reasons but mainly due to the overwhelming dullness of the first few missions. Inspection and Minesweeping might be thematic, but the waiting and repetitiveness of such missions wears on a player.
The later missions make up for this for the most part, though I must admit I didn't appreciate being the sole target of an entire squadron of Z-95s or TIEs; they make a mess of you pretty easily even on Easy!

This battle was enthusiastically just okay. It had both its bad and good moments tempered a little by a very boring and confusing plotline. Not sure where to begin with that one. I think the very poor English prevented a lot of things and ideas from coming across. The first few missions were quite boring – I’m not sure how we found this shipyard or this minefield but by god we are going to blow the crap out of them. To the creator’s credit, however, missions 4 and 5 absolutely made up for it. Lots of very big epic dogfighting with multiple Star Destroyers around. I will confess to the fact that it is all too fun to be in an X Wing with quad linked lasers blowing up a shieldless TIE Fighter with a single shot. Don’t worry, the pilot is an Imperial. It’s stolen technology anyway. Overall this battle was okay...it can be boring at times, but the last couple missions really saved it!

Plot and missions are acceptable, except in battle three where the Z-95s are able to eliminate an X/W with full shields in a couple of seconds on anything but easy setting. Ouch... not so well balanced I'd say.

Nice battle, although I don't like flying rebel ships ;) Plot is quite good, and battles are acceptable too. The only thing I can have against are Z-95 converting me to space dust within seconds in mission 3. Anyway, solid piece of work.

Lots of waiting with nothing to do in the first missions. I know that's "more realistic," but in a video game without a way to speed up time, it is annoying. In mission 3 and 4, there are too many capships for my weak computer to handle, so some of them went invisible. I'm not using that against the battle, just mentioning it. The plot is pretty basic and a little bit unclear. I've also flown the previous "Rion" battles, but I still don't know what the Rion Fleet is all about or why it's where it is.

Mission 2: ATR Assault do not arrive to assist with destroying Rebel corvettes.
Mission 4: IW fleet has trouble hitting the Rionese ISDs from broadside or slightly elevated angles. There is a Rionese SSD that arrives if the ISDII Royal is disabled, and then sits there doing nothing.

IW Battle 25 - Eliminate Friendship Rion's Shadow Campaign Tour of Duty #3 ------------------------------ Mission 1 - Operation "Black Out" Welcome aboard the Fear. the MC90 Warspite has been sent back home for reparation, with Task Forces I and III as well. The Fear is back into the Rion sector for the next phase of the operation, along with the MC-90 Despot and our rear guard of support ships. Hopefully we won't have to engage those unskilled ships until the Warspite comes back. Some information led us to suspect Rebels are planning to settle some vital installation into the Rion sector with the help of the Rion Confederate. If this project is true, it can't be tolerated by our forces. If we blow up this possible new Rebel base, it should be enough to destabilize completely the relationships between Rebels and the Rion Confederate; our previous operations in this sector have already hurt severely their confidence into each other. INTEL has reported a Rebel transport (or a shuttle, or anything else) is going to travel through a neighbour nav point with valuable information on a Rebel project. This may be related to the Rebel new base, so Razor squadron will be sent to inspect all ships in the area. If INTEL is true, we will send our special operation team aboard an Assault Transport to deal with the transport. This operation has been labeled "Black Out". Good luck. Mission 2 - Clearance The construction plans you stole in the last mission seem to be relative to some super-class Calamari Cruiser. Rebels seem to be planning the construction of a MC-120 Cruiser, in one of their shipyard in the sector. The shipyard is nearly finished as we were afraid of, we have to take immediate measures to stop the Rebel projects. This shipyard within the Rion sector was a good cover to such a project... who would have thought Rebels will put a secret construction location there ? We are not even sure the Rion Confederate are aware of what the Rebels are planning. Thanks to the data collected, we have the location of the shipyard. The defences around it are not yet finished, we must prepare our attack immediately. Enforcer squadron will be in charge of taking down three defence points around the shipyard, two minefields, and a stop point where two corvettes have been spotted. Good luck, pilot. Mission 3 - Frontal assault Time has come to launch our attack against the Rebel shipyard. Now the defences are cleared, the Fear will lead the assault against the shipyard. A frigate is the only real remaining problem between us and the shipyard, but it doesn't match the firepower of the Fear. You will fly with Black squadron and will be responsible for the destruction of the fighter cover. Hurry up, the Fear has already entered hyperspace ! Mission 4 - Confederate strikes back OK Boys, we are confronted to the Rion Task Force "Royal". This Task Force is the main Rion fleet, with 2 ISDs and 1 ISD-II. Oh and I forgot two frigates as well. We shouldn't have any chance to survive against them, anyway, they do believe so, and only the two ISDs are closing in. But their firepower is already enough to crush our two Cruisers, especially with the Despot not being one of our veteran ship. Task Force IV has quite never been engaged in a real battle, and Task Force II has been already damaged by the last mission. We will do what we can, but the odds are against us. That's why we will use one of our last card: two Carrack Cruisers which had been decommissioned, have been prepared for a possible kamikaze attack. Time has come to use them. We will launch one CRCK on each ISD, it should be enough to bring their shields down, if not to destroy them. Then, we will launch ATRs to disable the ships, then our forces will be able to finish off that first Rion line. After that, may the Darkness defend us againt the ISD-II and the frigates. You will fly with Black Squadron, and will lead the operations against the ISD's fighters. You will face mainly old TIEs such as T/Fs and T/Is. Ares Squadron will assist you, the other squadrons will be used against the ISD-II. Good luck, you will need it. Mission 5 - Last touch We located Task Force Royal (TFR) thanks to Enforcer squadron. Our three Cruisers, Fear, Warspite and Despot will assault TFR. Our cover within the sector is in real danger if any ship escapes. The Rion ships have regrouped near a Repair Yard, this one is to be destroyed as well. You will fly with Ares squadron, make sure their pitiful TIEs are not a threat for our cruisers. To resume: kill them all.
