Incredibly buggy, with many strange mission balance decisions (many capital ships with starfighter orders, ships you need to capture being directly in front of mission critical craft, capital ships flying through the bridges of your mission critical craft, fighters lacking the orders to carry out mission objectives) and often there are too many craft in the battle at the same time so your waves do not arrive when they should. Sometimes you will simply fail a mission because you die at the wrong time and there will be too many craft for you to get another wave due to how the respawning system works. The mission were also the same for the most part; kill fighters kill capital ships. The recon mission was also suffered from many issues. There is also a huge gap in AI skill level in certain missions (Jedi AI vs Novice AI).

Very enjoyable mission. This is the most professional looking storyline I have see in 200+ missions. The mission briefings were worthy of being in the actual game when it came out. It could have had a little more action in some of the missions, but he presentation was awesome. Didnt flip through and read it all. Nice variety as well.

Good, straightforward missions. I especially like the recon one.

Simplistic disable/capture type scenarios marred by (i) plot contrivance leading to the ship your supposed to disable for capture in mission 1 getting away somehow, so you have to capture it in mission 2, (ii) the appearance of the ever cloned army that is Rogue Sqdn, and some of the missions feeling like you just have to attend to achieve a victory.
Plus point for allowing you to fly normal TIEs (albeit Interceptors and Bombers)

Really cool set of missions. The second to last mission was kind of weird because the disabled cruiser got destroyed somehow and I still don't know why. The other missions all were pretty cool. I liked throwing in the Millenium Falcon and the fact you had to inspect it. Just a random little bit that was awesome. I shouldn't have let him get away though. Could've saved a lot of family drama later on.

Some bad design things happening. Like the Strike Cruiser you are trying to capture, once captured it then tries to hyperspace through your ISD, which in one instance killed it. There are quite a few things like that in this one forcing my hand to downgrade it to a 2.

I played on Easy. This set of missions wasn't bad, but it didn't excel either. It was mostly just a bunch of big dogfights with a little bit of capital ship destroying thrown into the mix.

A decent battle with better missions than briefings. Player will have several fighters in each mission allowing different approaches and replayability. However some missions were insufficient in terms of offensive payload, turning things somewhat tedious whenever all craft had depleted their invetories. However, dogfightings were interesting and except some missions with poor tactical sound, this mission is perfectly eligible for some points in the FCHG and some entertainment for 30 minutes or so

flying an x-wing for reconnaissance among rebels w/o the being immediately targeted while han solo crashes the falcon into a factory and thus makes you loose the mission because we all know this is not how he died?

A decent mission with an average storyline.
Good is that the possible craft selections in most missions are very well chosen and allow the possibility to fly every mission a couple of times in different roles. I think the downside is that a couple of missions aren't completely well balanced. With missile armed enemies in larger numbers making it quite hard to stay alive as the AI flightmembers tend to die very quick.
Plus getting through the fourth mission took quite a number of replays for me, and that was a little frustrating, making me want to abandon the battle.

Good battle, sometimes very easy ,sometimes very hard, specially the recco mission with the X-W and the last mission.Few missiles for the Rebels and sometimes double for the Imperials. Also, only of the presents capital ships the VSD must have Concussion Missiles launchers. No Missiles launchers for ISDs,CRvs,CRSs and Platforms. But in general a well balanced battle with a good plot.

Not a bad battle if at times not too easy. (Often I noticed i had still quite some waves left at the end) But the story is good, its a change to capture a CRS for once instead of destroying it and there were some excellent bombing runs... 1 thing on the last mission: if the briefing says just destroy those 2 platforms its weird to see the goals say something different.... but that's no biggy: you get loads of HRs anyway>:)

The missions were set in a very odd order. Some problems occured when selecting other craft to fly, mostly anything TIE related. The strength and smarts of the enemy AI was always stronger than allied forces. The set objectives of the allied forces were too incomplete to show intelligence in critical points of the missions.

A fairly easy battle. It is a little upsetting to see the starships attacking their own fighers though. All in all a good story line and great idea.

It had a great plot, but it was poorly put together. The starships started jumping around, attacking TIE Fighters because they had bad orders. And in the first mission, I wound up destroying my own GUNs because they were going to destroy the CRS, which is against mission parameters. Also, it crashed my game after the 4th mission was completed.

Superb battle! I very much enjoyed taking out the VSD in the last mission! Top notch!
2026-01-13
Mission 6: Unable to complete all bonus goals due to Y-Wing due to first wave of Y-Wing group Tag missing a ship due to craft limits.
2026-01-13
Mission 1: Gunboat Tartarus is given chaff by default despite the fact that no enemy craft have missiles, it should be set to Flare and locked. Meessage 13 should read "It's a bad day for the rebellion... Excellent flying!" Message 13 should be red, not Yellow. Last line of the mission description should "...read cruisers' defenses, support will be provided by the Escort Carrier Tango."
Mission 2: Gunboat Tartarus does not have orders to disable the Shuttle Comm when it arrives, meaning you have to fly the Assault Gunboat if you want to complete all bonus objectives. X-Wing group Elite has no orders except to go home. ESC Tango has Advanced Concussion Missiles but no Rebel fighters have orders to attack it. Waypoint spawn for GUN Tartarus is too close to enemy fighters, meaning on Hard you will lose minimum two Gunboats and possibly your entire first wave of Gunboats before you can save them. Message #4 is nonsensical as nothing has orders to attack ATR Pie. Message #8 missing punctuation. Freedoms' shields and prepped spelled incorrectly in the Mission Description.
Mission 3: Predator spelled incorrectly. A-Wing Gold & A-Wing Green should have orders to attack starfighters or transports, Imperials, not just imperials, or Transports or Imperials, Rebels. The result is that A-Wing Gold & Green will attack capital ships & platforms instead of fighters. PLT/1 Repair has starfighter orders, as do CRV Temo & Memo. Corvettes Temo & Memo will crash into the CRS Freedom since the first target they acquire is the FRG Probos, which is on the other side of the CRS Freedom. ATR Omicron will also crash into various things, as will the Tie Bombers, due to a combination of both them & the enemy capital ships not having high enough AI. The Freedom spelled incorrectly in message #14. rebels' forces spelled incorrectly in message #13, its' shields message #12, Freedoms' shields message #11 as well. Message #3 says "Beta and Gamma Squadrons, use your rockets on the starships." but Gamma has Advanced Torpedoes, not Heavy Rockets.
Mission #4: Entire sequence about the X-Wing arrival scout is incorrect. The X-Wing should start off using IFF Rebel when talking to rebel forces, not the red imperial text, and then switch to Red once the ruse has been discovered. Nebulon-B Frigate Han has starfighter orders and will chase the player around the entire mission unless destroyed. It will also crash into anything in its' way, potentially causing mission failure; the same goes for the Millennium Falcon. Tin Head spelled incorrectly. PLT/2 Shipyard & PLT/5 Repair Yard have hold steady orders but then attack target orders in the order 4 slot, but they will never attack. Foodstuff spelled incorrectly for CNVYR Conveyor cargo. Message #12 about not launching fighters is nonsensical as fighters are launched when 25% of Global group 3 is inspected.
Mission 5: CRV Halo has a Self Destruct order which is nonsensical since its' first order is to Kamaikaze into the Grey Wolf. If it is disabled at the wrong time STRKC Straka will head out to enter hyperspace going through the ISD Grey Wolf, destroying one or possibly both ships, causing mission failure. Assault craft ou" missing a T. T/I phoenix or GUN tartarus subsequent waves may not arrive due to too many craft being on the battlefield at once.
Mission 6: Craft wave issues due to too many craft being on the battlefield at once. If not destroyed fast enough VSD Praise flies through the bridge of ISD Grey Wolf, destroying both vessels. First wave of Y-Wing group Tag missing a ship due to craft limits. Manufacture spelled incorrectly. Both platforms have starfighter orders and redundant orders (Attack Targets, Imperials x2 in slot 1 & 4). Mission description states "Our mission: destroy the Repair Facility and the Shipyard Platform" when the player must also destroy 50% of each group of enemy fighters. Assault Gunboat group Crusader has the 2x warheads status given to it but it does not have any warheads by default and the selection option is locked.
2013-10-26
Mission 2: SHU Comm crashes into the CRS Freedom. T/F Odin crash into ESC Tango at the start of the mission. Mission 3: PLT Repair and the EH corvettes have starfighter orders.
