Good basic fun! Clear plot and a enjoyable mission - be careful not to get *too* dented when going up against the platform in the second part of the mission.

First mission I completed! Very straightforward, loveed the attack of the platform at the end, all while fighting off those waves. Not sure if it was influenced by the actual battle of Midway from WWII but fun none the less!

A very quick, straightforward mission. Both stages keep the pilot entertained with a mix of anti-fighter and anti-capital ship combat. The second stage was a bit challenging, since a lot of fire converges on you, and you're forced to maneuver carefully and make use of friendly craft in order to complete the objectives. Overall, a very good battle.

Ok, so I decided to review each material I fly. I'm aware this is the first XWA Free so I'll leave this as a reference, for future mission builders.
Plot: A bit bland. Not the worst, but certainly not the most compelling. It works tho. Could use a bit more context for immersion. I agree Rogue Squadron for the umpteenth time as a warmup on this case did not make sense. As a matter of fact, any enemy on that moment did not make sense.
Fun Factor (gameplay): It was a fun idea to hit the platform. Lots of fighters, yes but somehow it still felt artificial, as if you knew you're being thrown a lot of fighters because there is no better tactical threat to offer.
Briefing: Texts were too short, squares not synched, could've used animation better, more info on the commander briefing as well.
Character development (messages): lacking, sadly. A lost opportunity, not to mention you're not told what's going on. Are your fellow pilots running away?
Technical aspect: I'd do away with the jamming, let the player know on the goals.
I think this mission has potential for being rebuilt on TFTC.

I played this on Easy with cheats. This mission was fairly quick and didn't require a whole lot from me, as a pilot. On Easy, your wingmen are more than enough to destroy most everything. It was a decent enough mission.

Good mission. Solid development in both the fighting areas, whether it was dogfighting as well as the bombing run on the Rebel Spaceyard. The action was intense but tollerable. Worth a try and 1 good point for the FCHG account.

This is a basic mission with basic goals. It's is fairly simple to complete but I guess I wouldn't expect much since it's the first XWA Free Mission in the EH.

I feel dirty flying these missions on easy (for RTF). I will try to do this review justice. This mission is as basic as it can be for an XWA mission. The regions are used for the sake of using regions. In other words, this is a good ... tutorial on how to use regions to stage different events, but the events themselves are nothing to tell home about. So the region setup feels forced. You fly in the obligatory T/D. Never inn any real risk. Also near the end all your friends hyperspace out, leaving you alone to finish off the platform. Not clear why that is. There is nothing fundamentally wrong, but not much to highlight either.

This mission had a lot of potential, but I found it had several issues that prevented me enjoying it. Rogue Squadron should have been an 'end boss' rather than a warmup, and dumping a single ship into endlessly respawning waves of fighters while simultaneously trying to blow up a Platform was both enraging and offputting.

This was quite a pleasurable mission to fly.The size of forces on both sides seemed fair. Perhaps EH side has just a bit too many ships. The goal is relatively simple too. Kill them all, with a small capture operation on the side. From technical perspective, a solid mission.

Sit back, relax, and watch the AI do all the work. I played it on hard with the TIE Advanced...hardly a scratch on her, too

Installation and play instructions ,
1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle.
2] Check the Misc folder in your XWA for additional material like patches, emails or sounds.
3] In EHBL, create a new "EH Pilot" in the Game Menu (Check "Prepare for EH Battle").
4] Press the X-Wing Alliance button to start XWA and fly the battle.
