Flew this for the Remob4 competition on hard. While it is a battle that makes a missile boat mission hard and challenging, it is also horribly linear. You need to figure out the exact series of triggers and targets or it's a quick fail.
Not an original story, more kind of a loose re-tread from TIE. The missions themselves were fairly straightforward, and you knew why you were doing what you were doing. But design was pretty basic, there wasn't much complexity or anything unique to the design choices. Just kind of meh overall, but not prohibitively bad or anything.
A straight forward 4 mission battle centred around the Zaarin campaign.
The premise of the campaign is to hunt down and destroy Admiral Zaarin's ship yards. The battle sticks to this plot line with no deviation and little room for secondary or tertiary objectives.
The briefings are extremely brief and to the point and while some of the missions did provide a challenge, it really boiled down to 'order of operations' in figuring out what to destroy first rather than using any flight skill.
All in all a decent battle, though perhaps not one for the books.
A simple and rapid battle to complete, with minimal issues in gameplay beyond a tendency for capital vessels to operate with fighter orders. The narrative is not particularly complex, while it may be annoying to some to be restricted to flying a missile boat for the entire battle - all in all, completed in under 25 minutes with little challenge, but enjoyable enough.
A fairly average battle, though partially lacking in quality. It's short and simple, which makes it nice and quick. The entire battle has you flying a missile boat, which makes it somewhat unique, too. Ignoring the plot, there isn't much going on and some design choices are questionable, like starships are typically lacking sensible orders.
Zaarin's my favourite traitor, so it was a pleasure to take him out again ;). Overally, It's a very good battle.
I am just so sick of Zaarin. The storyline is weak and pointless. Before creating a battle get the facts straightened out first.
Not a bad mission. A few of the briefings are too short and with not enough deatil, but overall it flew well.
Ok, so Zaarin didn't have Missile Boats. But this is a really fun Battle(Dan note: Missile Boats were made because Zaarin was churning out T/Ds. MIS's counter T/Ds)
Rather good battle, although easy Ballanced missios ang good plo. One mistake - Zarin died in final battle of TIE, and was captured in one of previous custom battles :-)
Okay a couple of points.. Zaarin never had any missile boats..they were created in response to his attacks with T/D's..and he's already dead..he died in the final battle of TIE Fighter..Other than that..enjoyable..
Good battle. Ford found it interesting and fun, though the first few missions are fairly difficult. Of course, that's probably just because Ford's a terrible pilot, but that's why one flies missions, eh? Anyway, a word of warning: You fly the MIS alot. For almost, if not the whole battle. Opponents of the On Laser Wonder stay far away from this battle, though the warheads are fun >:)
